Teaching Philosophy

I believe that all children are unique and have something special that they can bring to

their own education. My teaching philosophy has been greatly shaped by continuing to teach

students with disabilities, in which there are a multitude of different things to consider when

teaching students with disabilities. My priorities are to provide a classroom that students feel

comfortable, safe to make mistakes, share feelings, and be themselves.

My goal as a teacher is to make sure my students learning is lasting, meaningful, and

enjoyable. I believe in guiding my students through the learning process by showing them

exactly how to do something and providing them a path to follow. I will help each child in

expanding their own ability and learning style. I will incorporate hands-on learning to assist

students with engagement. I will present a curriculum that incorporates current topics and

everyday situations that are educational and helpful for my students. I will provide stability in

my students lives and be someone they can count on.

When I look back on my education journey my teachers were the ones, I looked up too.

They provided me with all the tools I needed in life to be successful. I want to provide the same

to my students and be a mentor to my students like my teachers were to me growing up. Being

an educator is an amazing job because not only are you teaching students valuable lessons, but

you could also be someone they strive to be.
