a. Incorporate coding in the classroom to support classroom instruction

II. Purpose of Study

a. The purpose of my study is to determine if coding in the classroom will positively

affect mathematic scores.

III. Fundamental Research Question

a. Will coding in the classroom create engagement in students that will positively

affect them in mathematics?

a. Mixed Method (both qualitative and quantitative)

V. Type of Data

a. Teacher surveys

b. Test data

VI. Type of Measurement

a. Teacher surveys-Likert Scale

i. Question example- How likely are you to continue using coding lessons in

class? Not likely, Likely, Very likely, Undeterminded

b. Math Scores- View test scores of lessons with coding vs. without coding, and

analyze to determine if scores are different.

VII. Focus of Literature Review


a. Students will gain characteristics that will increase engagement and achievement

in mathematics.
