1. Aviation management procedure

Aviation operations contracted by BHP Billiton must be governed by documented aviation management procedures
that are reviewed annually.

 Comply with authorities (Appendix 1).


 Include the Appendix 2 requirements in all aviation management procedures.

2. Passenger-carrying flights

Aircraft carrying passengers must be fitted with dual controls and be operated by two qualified pilots.

Appendix 2. Aviation management procedure requirements

Risk assessment. Performed by the aircraft operator prior to commencement of aviation


operations. This must:
 be reviewed by the competent aviation specialist;
 incorporate all documented mitigations from the risk assessment
into the journey management plan;
 be retained by the BHP Billiton person accountable for the aviation
activity.
