A) THE CHRISTMAS VILLAGE


GUIDELINES

This contest shall be done using indigenous materials and will be constructed inside the
campus road between the CAS and CIT buildings from gate 2 to the bridge (going to oval). The
area will be divided into four areas and randomly selected for each college for them to be
decorated. It will also be the location of the college Christmas manger or “Belen”. There should
only be one entry per college. There is no entry fee for this contest and each college should raise
their own funds.

B) BELEN MAKING CONTEST 2022

Guidelines and Mechanics for Belen Making Contest
Guidelines:
1. The contest must be participated by each college which shall be situated in their respective areas in the
Christmas village
2. The Contest must only have one (1) entry per college.
3. Belen size shall be 6 x 8 feet minimum
4 The manger shall be able to hold the baby Jesus properly in place.
5. The Belen shall be composed of the following:
a. Holy family
b. Manger
c. Star
d. Angel
e. A sheep
f. Three kings
g. other animals (optional)
6. The Belen shall be made of native and recycled items like plastic bottles, used papers, cartons or other
indigenous materials.
7. The Belen shall be colorful and well-illuminated, with light bulbs or colorful Christmas lights, but candles
are not permissible
8. First judging for the entries will be on December 5, 2022 Monday at 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM, and final
judging will be on December 15, 2022 at 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Awarding of winners will be on December 16,
2022.

C) THE LANTERN MAKING CONTEST

To qualify for the lantern making contest, the lantern shall be made out of indigenous materials
and with a minimum of 1 meter diameter. It will also be hoisted at the Christmas village before
December 1, 2022.

Contest Mechanics
1. It shall be made from indigenous materials or recycled materials.
2. Any design with a minimum of 1 meter diameter is acceptable.
3. Using of paint is not allowed.
4. The lantern should include the university logo.
5. The lantern is not necessarily a star.
6. All entries will become a property of the school (for possible exhibit)
7. This contest is open for every group, clubs, fraternities etc., and all sections are required to have
at least one entry.

D) GUIDELINES FOR THE LANTERN PARADE

1. The lantern of participating units/groups must reflect the theme of the activity.
2. Three-dimensional lantern that is lighted by bulbs shall qualify for the competition.
3. Use of non-motorized tricycle or push carts as float for the lantern shall be allowed.
4. Ten (10) people are allowed to maneuver their unit’s/group’s lantern during the parade.
5. Inexpensive lantern is encouraged. We suggest that the total cost of the lantern should not
exceed P3,000.00.
6. Only merrymaking activities like singing, dancing and cheering shall be allowed. Use/drinking of
liquors and prohibited or regulated substances shall be banned during the parade event.
7. Musical instruments and other noise/merrymaking tools/gadgets/equipment may be used.
8. Each college/participating group is required to police their own ranks and provide their own
marshals/security.
9. Participants are encouraged to wear economical and creative costumes expressing their
respective course or specialization and must be along with the theme.
10. College student organizations shall join their respective colleges. Wearing of accessories like
arm/headbands, hats, bandanas or carrying lanterns or flaglets are most welcome to add color
to the occasion.

The Christmas lantern being made will be paraded during the Lantern Parade; therefore, all class
sections must have at least one entry for this contest.

E) CHRISTMAS CAROL CONTEST


The carol contest must have 30 members. Each college must be represented in this activity. It
must be relevant to the theme. The time duration for the jingle must be three to five (3-5)
minutes. And must be through the guidance of a music teacher/coach. Any musical instrument
can be used as accompaniment.

Criteria for Judging

Musicality 50%
Entertainment Value 50%

F) Christmas Dance contest


The Christmas Dance Contest shall at least have a minimum of 20 participants per college which
will dance using any Christmas carol to a length of at least 3 to 5 minutes
