One day, it was a very long dry season. The villagers
could not harvest the rice. Therefore, all villagers were
planning to leave their village and find other place to stay.
Some villagers inform Pak Pesut about the new place but
he refused arrogantly. So, they all left him and his family
alone in the village. When they arrived at the new place,
they all were very happy.
It was in the morning when Pak Pesut’s wife was
cooking their last portion of rice. Suddenly, a beggar
knocked the door and asked a little rice. Pak Pesut
refused it and asked his family to eat the very hot rice.
Because they needed water to drink, they rushed to
Mahakam River and jumped to the river. The beggar saw
the incident. He then prayed to God. Amazingly, Pak
Pesut family slowly changed into dolphin. Since then,
everybody named the animal as Pesut.

Once upon a time, there was a clever monkey. He lived on a beautiful
island, in an apple tree. One day, a crocodile swam to the island. ‘I’m
hungry,’ he said. So, the monkey threw a red apple to the crocodile. The
crocodile munched and munched.
The next day, the crocodile came back. ‘Please, may I have two apples?’
he asked. He ate one and gave one to his wife. The crocodile went to see
the monkey every day, to listen to his tales and eat his apples. He wanted
to be clever, just like the monkey. The crocodile’s wife had an idea. ‘Why
don’t you eat his heart? Then you’ll be clever, just like him!’
The next day, he said to the monkey, ‘Come to my house! We’ll have
lunch together, to thank you for the apples.’ But when the monkey
arrived, the crocodile snapped and said, ‘Monkey! I want to eat your
heart, so I can be as clever as you!’ The clever monkey thought quickly
and said, ‘But... I haven’t got my heart here. It’s on the island, in the
apple tree.’ They all went back to the island. ‘Wait here, and I will get my
heart,’ said the monkey.
The monkey quickly climbed the tree and sat at the top. ‘Oh, Crocodile.
You are greedy. Of course, you can’t have my heart. And now, you can’t
have my apples!’ And the clever monkey laughed and laughed!

The blue whale is the largest animal on Earth. Like all
whales, it is a mammal. About every 10 to 20 minutes, it
must come to the surface to breathe.
For many years, blue whales were hunted for their oil and
body parts. They were close to extinction in 1960, when
they became protected by law. Today the blue whale
remains an endangered species.
Blue whales are found in all the world’s oceans. Some
live in the northern Pacific and Atlantic. Others live
around Antarctica. Many blue whales move to other
places during the year. For example, in the summer they
may feed in cold waters near the poles. Then, in the
winter they may move to warmer waters to mate.
Blue whales live alone or in small groups. They make
very loud, low noises that can travel for hundreds of
miles. They eat tiny creatures that looks like shrimp
called krill. A single adult can swallow several tons of krill
each day.
