Algorithm /stay cooling
• Stay cooling is included in washing course
• When whites 95℃ is selected, stay cooling is done 3 times
• If the spin is selected when water temperature is higher than 60℃ during washing course, Stay cooling is done 2 times.
• Water level is decided 7 levels and motor rotates for 60 second and drain water until it reaches 2nd level.
• During water supplying and draining, motor dose not rotate and the sensor check Water supplying / draining
• Water level is decided as a 23.0KHz and motor rotates 60 second and drain water until it reaches 24.8KHz.

Algorithm / suds sensing
2-1. During washing course
• Suds sensing during wash course is done by water level change regardless of motor operation.
• During pre-wash or Wool wash or Delicate wash course, it does not work.
• The suds sensing during spin course is done when the spin speed does not reach at certain level (450rpm) for
certain times( Low→high voltage 19,18,17seconds) during speed increasing period.
(However,If the water level frequency is lower than 23.2KHz during spinning course, the machine stops spinning
immediately and suds removing program is started.)
• Suds sensing during intermittent spinning is done by speed-up and speed-down ( Increasing slope / Decreasing slope),
and when suds is detected, the water supplying time is increased more than 3 times to get rid of suds or the Suds
removing program works to remove suds.
• If the RPM is changed too much during untangling course or if the balancing program is done more than 32 times, the
machine decides those as the suds problem.
• 세탁 동작중 거품감지 기능이 동작되면 세탁을 중단하고 거품제거 기능 동작후 헹굼으로 행정이 변경되어 진행됨으로 남은시간이
재조정됨 (ex, 2:20 Æ 50)

2-2.During Spinning course

• First sensing suds program is done during intermittent spinning and when difference of speeds between speed-up and
speed-down is more than 60 (r.p.m / sec), the micom recognizes it as suds problem.
• Second sensing suds program : The micom recognizes it as suds problem when the spinning speed does not reach 450r.p.m
in 18 sec or when the water pressure is lower than 23.0kHz.
• Third sensing suds program : When present r.p.m becomes lower 200r.p.m than the Max r.p.m or is lower than 350r.p.m,
the micom recognizes it as suds problem.
• When suds is detected, spinning is stopped and the Suds remove program is started. And then the Water supplying and
draining are proceeded until suds is not detected.

Algorithm / Unbalance
1. After finishing rinsing, it advances into the program for checking the Unbalance before spinning cycle.
(stop for 5sec).
2. After finishing rinsing, the inner drum rotates for around 10 sec at 50 r.p.m (to disentangle the clothes)
3. Again stop for 5 sec.
4. After this time, the inner drum rotates for 12sec.at about 100 r.p.m to get the eccentricity data.
5. Actual sensing time is for the last 5 sec. during all 12 sec.
6. During this time, if total amount of r.p.m changing ( speed changing) is over the standard which is set in the Micom,
the washing machine starts untangling course again. ( i.e, if the Micom decides that the load is out of balanced,
the washing machine starts from the untangling course again.)
7. If the total amount of r.p.m changing ( Δspeed changing) is over the standard after finishing untangling course for
40 times, it displays the “ UE” error message.
8. If the Micom decides there is no unbalance load after sensing course, the spinning course is started.

▣ Only this kind of function can be done in Micom type washing machine. i.e, the washing machine
tries to solve the unbalance problem by itself before it asks customers helps.

◈ Laundry detecting is executed by water re-filling time.

◈ Water re-filling time = 0 (Small amount of laundry)

Pressure switch
1) A basic principle

Pressure Switch
: When a cup is put into water upside down,
the air in the cup is compressed and its pressure
becomes higher than the atmosphere pressure. Tube
The compressed air in the tube connected to Diaphragm and
operates pressure switch to convert the changed air pressure
to electronic frequency.

1.Cover : It receives the air pressure from a tub
2.Diaphragm : It goes up by the Air pressure ⑤
3.Core : Ferrite core moves up and down with Diaphragm.
4.Coil : Weak current flows through coil and Inductance
is varied by the core position. ④
5.Capacitor : It oscillates the alternating current with
input direct current . ③
6.Adjust bolt : It adjusts stable frequency to get proper water level.

Pressure switch
3) Working principle
* The air in the chamber at the bottom of Outer Tub is compressed
Coil While Tub is filled with water coming from Inlet valve.
* The compressed air makes the diaphragm of the pressure switch through
the pressure switch tube and the core moves up.
* Therefore, the frequency from the signal wire is changed according to
Core the conversion of the “ L”.
* When pressure senses the selected water level, micom stops water
supply and starts wash cycle.
* During Drain cycle, the air pressure in the chamber becomes lower,
Diaphragm while the water in the Tub is drained out.
Outer tub
Pressure Therefore, the core goes down by the spring force.
switch * When pressure sensor senses the reset water level(No water in Tub),
tube micom stops drain cycle and start spin cycle

<How to supply Water >

*Water is supplied to the inlet valve and it makes water pressure of P1 and P2 equally through H1.
*When electrical current is supplied to coil, plunger is pulled and H2 is opened by magnetic force
*Water pressure of P1 through H1 becomes higher than that of P2 through H2 because the diameter
of H1 is smaller than that of that of H2 (H1 hole size < H2 hole size)
* Diaphragm and Diaphragm Holder are moved by the difference of water pressure
* Water supplying starts.

< How to stop water supply>

* When power supplying to the coil stops, spring pushes plunger to block H2 hole.
* Because water pressure of P1 is higher than that of P2, water is continuously supplied into
solenoid part through the H2 hole.
* Diaphragm and Diaphragm Holder move together and the valve is closed,
Water pressure of P1 becomes equal with that of P2 and Water supplying stops.

• Wash cycle time delayed • The washing time may vary by the amount of laundry, water temperature
and other using condition.
• If the unbalance is detected or if the suds removing program works,
the wash time shall be increased.
• Door does not open •Once started, the door can not be open for safety reason.
• Wait one or two minutes before opening the door to give electric locking
mechanism time to open.

• Washer won’t spin • Check the the door is firmly closed

•Thumping sound • This is usually sound (In case of heavy wash load)
• If sound continue, washer is probably out of balance.
Stop and redistribute wash load.
•Suds over •To much detergent or unsuitable detergent may cause
excessive foaming which may result in water leaks.

•Water in the washer does not •Clean and straighten the drain hose.
drain or drains slowly • Clean the drain filter.

•Water does not enter washer • Check another tap in the house.
or it enters slowly • Fully open tap.
• Straighten hose.
• Check the filter of the inlet hose.
