Dear Parents:

Greetings!

Samar National School will be representing Catbalogan City Division in the

upcoming Program for International Student Assessment (PISA), which is an
international assessment that measures 15-year old students’ reading, mathematics and
science literacy every three years, and this year’s assessment will be on April 21, 2022.
Face-to-face review classes and other related activities are conducted daily from
7:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon in preparation for the said assessment including a Mock Test
that is done every Friday. Unfortunately, the school garnered only 10.83 Mean
Percentage Score (MPS) and landed on the 7th rank in the latest mock test
administered to 11 schools all over Region VIII.
Hence, to intensify our efforts of obtaining a satisfactory result in the PISA, the
school shall implement additional hours for the review classes, which will start from 7:30
a.m. to 12:00 n.n. and 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. We are planning to serve snacks and lunch
so that students will no longer go home on lunch breaks and to sustain their interests in
the review classes.
However, with the school’s implementation of blended learning, where face-to-
face learning, online classes and modular instructions are catered to our students, our
MOOE can no longer suffice for additional expenditures.
It is for this reason, that we are knocking again at your most benevolent heart for
financial assistance that will help us realize this undertaking. Any amount will surely
make a great impact in the lives of our learners for “Only by giving are you able to
