UNESCO  Chair  in  Bioethics  in  particular  was  established  with  the  aim  to 
reflecting  the  need  for  integration  of  ethics  in  daily  practice,  increasing 
interest  and  respect  to  values  involved  in  healthcare  delivery  and  raising 
awareness for competing interests

The  vision  is  to  train  students and enable youth advocacy; introduce students 
to  non-medical  facets  of  medicine:  sociology,  economics  and  public 
administration  
 

About the Course 

The  International  Batch  of  The  International  Certificate  on  The  Principles  of 
Bioethics  and  Human  Rights  in  Health  Science  course  for  Medical  Students 
worldwide will start from the last week of July 2021.  

The course is 1-2 hours per week and will run for a duration of 24 Weeks and 
will  have  an  International  faculty  from  Australia,  Canada,  India  ,  Israel,  USA, 
and UK that will facilitate the Teaching and assessment of the modules.

Professor  Dr  Russel  D’Souza  Australia,  Director,  Department  of  Education 
International  Program  UNESCO  Chair  in  Bioethics,  Haifa,  had  introduced  for 
Medical  Students  a  15  weeks  Webinar  Real  time  course  with  an  International 
teaching  faculty  of  the  department  of  education  leading  to  the  Award  of  the 
International  Certificate  in  Bioethics  &  Human  Rights  in  Health  Science  of 
the Department of Education UNESCO Chair in Bioethics University of Haifa  

4  batches  of  Medical  Students  from  India  and  South  Asia,  2  batches  of 
Medical  Students  from  Africa  and  1  batch  of  Medical  Students  Worldwide 
have  successfully  completed  the  course  and  received  the  Awarded 
International Certification 

 
These  courses  are  designed  to  improve self knowledge about bioethics. Upon 
successful  completion  of  course  requirements  participants  will  be  eligible  for 
an  award  of  the  International  Certificate  on  The  Principles  of  Bioethics  and

These  weekly  courses  are  designed  to  improve  self-knowledge  about 

bioethics  and  how  to  teach  bioethics.  The  course  will  have  online  real  Time 
Webinars  with  Expert  International  faculties  taking  lectures  and  discussions 
which  will  be  interactive.  Post  the  lecture  the  participants  are  encouraged  to 
continue with the discussions on a dedicated WhatsApp group.  
>  The  participants  may  expect  at  least  one  assignment  for  assessment 
during each week of the course.  
>  The  participants  should  use  a  laptop  /  PC/  mobile  device  with  a  decent 
broadband internet connection for attending.  
 
There  will  be  a  monthly  CBD  (Competency  Based  Development)  Bioethics 
Education  Webinar  later  which  will  be  available  free  of cost to all participants 
after completing the ICC.

❖ The  International  Batch  (approx.  75  students  per  batch)  of  The 
International  Certificate  on  The  Principles  of  Bioethics  and  Human 
Rights  in  Health  Science  course  for  Medical  Students  worldwide  will 
start from the last week of July 2021.   
However,  once  registered,  students  will  be  able  to  join  their  preferred 
dates  and  slots  within  the  course  as  per  their  convenience.  Details  will 
be shared with registered delegates via email 
❖ The  course  is  1-2  hours  per  week  and  will  run  for  a  duration  of  24
