TOPIC: INTRODUCTION OF QURAN.

The book composed of sacred writings accepted by Muslims as revelations made to Muhammad
by Allah through the angel Gabriel.

Different names of the Holy Quran.


1. Al-kitab
2. Al-furqan
3. Noor
4. Shifa
5. Al-ilm
6. Al-bian
The Quran describes itself as 'the discernment' (al-furqān), 'the mother book' (umm al-kitāb), 'the
guide' (huda), 'the wisdom' (hikmah), 'the remembrance' (dhikr), and 'the revelation' (tanzīl;
'something sent down', signifying the descent of an object from a higher place to lower place).
It has 30 paras.
It has 114 suras.(86 makki,28madni)
It has 6236 ayats
It has 7 stages(manzil).
And there are 558 rukus in the Holy quran.

IMPORTANCE OF HOLY QURAN .


The books following the earlier ones cancelled the laws prescribed by the previous
books.similarly the Holy quran which was revealed last at all cancelled all the sharis prescribed
by the previous divine books. Now it is obligatory to follow only the laws laid down by the Holy
quran.the faith in the previous divine books means that those were true books but the laws
prescribed ti them have since been superseded by the laws of the Holy quran.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE HOLY QURAN.


The main characteristics of the holy quran are as under.
1. The last book.
2. Its preservation
3. Its living language
4. Its universality
5. It is comprehensive
6. It is a miracle
The quran-e-majeed is the last divine book of Allah Almighty which was revealed upon
the last prophet Hazrat Muhmmad during the period of approximately 23 years gradually
and according to needs and demands arising from time to time .
This is a very noble and sacred book containing a message of guidance for all human
beings.
