Lack of routine gun lube cleaning is the main factor contributing to the flow crack on OHT tyres

because too much lubricant on the green tyres impedes compound flow, which results in cracks. This
can be avoided by performing routine cleaning after each shift, which could prevent lubricant gun
obstruction. For this, session employees must get appropriate direction and training, and their status
must be routinely updated via frequent audits.

Lack of periodic mould cleaning prior to loading a green tyre and improper vent drilling after
sandblasting are two machine-related root causes. According to my findings, this can be eliminated
by routinely cleaning the mould after every shift. Due to their workload in other areas and the fact
that they frequently neglected to drill the vents after sandblasting the mould, I discovered that most
of the time the employees did not completely remove the mould, which would have restricted the
compound and caused cracks. Therefore, my recommendation is to designate separate staff for the
cleaning process and to frequently review his performance.
