of our founder’s home in
Philadelphia.

and a one-man operation.

came to life for the first time as an


8-page newsletter in 1994 in Philadelphia,
in the living room of the founder’s home,
on a first generation Mac-Se computer.

Turned down for a job at major daily


in Philadelphia and found overqualified
by a now demised Spanish language
newspaper in this same city, the founder
realized the two Journalism Degrees he
had earned didn’t amount to much. Left
with few choices, he decided to start a
publication the old-fashioned way−from
scratch.

Inspired by a new technology of the


time, Desktop Publishing (“Pagemaker”),
the founder fell under the spell of the
possibilities of the software and jumped
headfirst into creating a news media of
his own, with nothing but his own sweat
equity.

From a one-man operation, has


evolved to be a burgeoning and bustling
team of young and enthusiastic people.
