THE 7TH PROVINCIAL ELECTIVE CHAPTER:

PRE CHAPTER BULLETIN #1

PRIORIES AND ELECTORAL COLLEGES
As preparations for the Chapter begin, the first event, for most of us, is the voting of the
Socius/Socii of a prior and the delegates of colleges to the Chapter. Consequently, while the
brothers in our priories elect Socius/Socii, all others have been grouped in six electoral colleges.

Note: for convocation of electors and voting procedure, please confer LCO nn. 445 - 450;
nullity
of an election, no. 456; the election of Socius/Socii and delegates, confer nn. 489 - 499.
Reminder: the election of Socius/Socii is to be presided over by the subprior.

PRAYER FOR THE 7TH PROVINCIAL ELECTIVE CHAPTER

Almighty and merciful Father, in your infinite goodness, receive our sacrifice of praise and
thanksgiving: for the gift of our Province, our Dominican vocation, the many strides we have
made in our various apostolates, and for bringing us, thus far, since the last elective Chapter.
Father, in your immeasurable love and mercy, look kindly upon all we have accomplished and
redeem our failings.

Loving Father, as we prepare for the 7th elective Chapter, we humbly and earnestly entreat you:
fill us with the power of your Holy Spirit; May the Holy Spirit direct all our preparations,
deliberations, proceedings and choices, in fidelity to the spirit and charism of St. Dominic to
appropriately respond to the exigencies of our time. May your Holy Spirit inspire, revive, refresh
and enable us also, to identify, more profoundly, the needs of our Province and work earnestly to
achieve them.

Increase in us the spirit of fraternal charity that our deliberations and choices may keep us
faithful to the Order’s mission of preaching and salvation of souls.

Lord, give success to the Chapter and healthy growth and development to our province. Lead us
to new directions consistent with your will for us. We make our prayer through Jesus Christ our
Lord. Amen.

Our Lady Queen of Friars, pray for us.

St Joseph the Worker, pray for us.
Blessed Father Dominic, pray for us.
