Step 5

Consider what the data is telling you. For this final step, in a Word document you will include a section
on what you see from the data. Tell us what you learned about your students' performance and your
teaching. All results came from class Test Results Table below.

Class Test Results Table.xlsx

How well is the class doing as a whole group? Provide two statements.

1. My average for my class is a 69% which tells me that they are only at a D letter grade, which is
not passing. This tells me that I need to change my teaching style to reach student retainment.
2. Looking at my students test scores, question 5 and 11 have results that I need to reassess to see
if there is a bias concern or I may need to look at when that material was taught to decide if it
was even a covered topic.

Which individuals are doing well and in what topics? Describe at least 3 students.

1. Cody and Nathen are doing well on the test, and in both addition, subtraction and division with
a 100% across the board! Great Job!
2. Hugh is right behind them with an 80% on the test and a 92% in addition and a 91% in
subtraction. He could use some help in division.

Who may need extra support and on what topics? Describe at least 3 students.

1. Nathan and Luke need support in both addition and subtraction and as well as remediation as
his text was just as poor. The grades demonstrated in the 30’s range indicate that one on one is
necessary. Although the grades in division were slightly higher.
2. Patrick, Sarah, Bianca, Kiara, Molly and Claire are between the 50-60’s tell me that with more
practice, I am hopeful that we can get them to an average grade of 70% in the class (although I
would like to see at least an 80%).
