 Activity
1. Students will unpack for the morning.
2. Students will join at the carpet (whole group).
3. We will warm up by checking in to see how everyone is
doing by ckecking in on their feelings.
4. We will review the calendar: (Note: for the first month the
teacher will be modeling how the calendar will go.)

a. I will have each week an assistant teacher (student) who will

stand at the white board.
b. Names of all the students will be written individually on
popsicle sticks and the assistant teacher will be pulling names.
c. Each student will be able to answer the assistant teacher by
dragging and dropping the following on the calendar:
- The month
- The Day
(At this point, only two students will be called up)
d. Then students will be selected to answer the following
questions on the calendar by dragging and dropping the
following correct corresponding day:
-Yesterday was …
-Today is….
-Tomorrow will be…
(At this point, three more students will be called up to the
board.) The assistant teacher will check that all answers are
correct and will select two more students.
1. One student will read the calendar aloud, Today is (Day,
Month, Date, and Year). (Note: if it is incorrect, they will call up
the student who labeled the error and assist them in the
correction.)
2. The second student will instruct all students to stand and
work out their wiggles by counting to the current numeric day.
(At this point, two more students will have been called up to
the board.)
(Note: the top block open white block will have Mrs. Neuman’s
Classroom, the second open white block will be my assistant.)
