Abstract:

Project SAGIP stands for Seek And Guide Ill People. Amid the global crisis caused by the
corona virus pandemic, hospitals and healthcare facilities are reporting shortages of vital
equipment’s. One important device for which demand has ramped up is ventilators for patients
who need assistance with their breathing due to the respiratory effects of COVID-19. Basically, a
ventilator is a machine that provides breathable air into and out of the lungs, to deliver breaths
to a patient who is physically unable to breathe, or breathing insufficiently. With this, we the
researcher has developed a prototype smart ventilator that has the ability to give alternative air
to the Covid-19 patient at same time apply health monitoring to it. The prototype ventilator has
its unique, smart and advance features. A notification via SMS and alarm sound will send to the
nurses and doctors if there is abnormal activity to the patient. The device is directly connected
to the IoT cloud, as a result anyone can (such as doctors, relatives etc.) monitor their health
condition remotely in real-time. The health parameters of a person such as heart rate in BPM,
temperature, SPO2 level, and humidity can be remotely observe. The Fire - Beetle
development board along with heart rate sensor is used here. The Fire-Beetle board collects the
sensors data and sends them to the Iot-cloud. The board uses Wi-Fi connectivity for maintaining
the cloud communication with Thinger.io. Thinger.io is an open-source IoT-cloud platform. A
mobile application for real time data visualization is developed. The application directly
connected to the IoT cloud and shows the real-time data that comes from health monitoring
device.
