Like many of Shakespeare's sonnets, "Sonnet 29" is a love poem. Unlike some of Shakespeare's other love
poems, however, which are concerned with physical beauty and erotic desire, "Sonnet 29" is about the
power of love and how it positively affect one's mentality and motivation
So let us try to analyze There are quatrains in the poem and a couplet at the end
In the first quatrain covers the existential crisis. He views himself so negatively to the point that he curses
his own life.
And the following quatrain you can feel the speakers’ envy. He envies people around him who has more
friends, who he think creates better work making him feel discontented of wat he has. The successful
people around him he especially loathes.
Thankfully, redemption is at hand which we can find in the third quatrain heroic couplet. And it so
happens that the speaker is thinking of his love and all at once the world seems a brighter place. life is
refreshed and the speaker wouldn't change places with a king.
In a nut shell the poem puts forth the saying “In bad days, I think of you and I feel a lot better” but of
course Shakespeare expressed it in an artistic way.
It’s amazing how love can generate such optimism and inspiration. How the dark days fades away
when we think of the ones we love. Diba like when we are struggling in school you think of your
family and you feel more motivated and inspired to always strive for the best.
Although, the validation from others seems to give joy to us we should not be overly dependent
with these. We need to learn to love ourselves and be contented with what we have instead of
relentlessly comparing your capabilities and achievement to others. Because if we fully realize
that self-love is important you take everything with grace and choose to find contentment, peace
and power. Achieving this without the need of others validation. Because at the end of the day
you only have yourself.
