8th-grade History and Civics, Economics and Financial Literacy, and World History. August 2020 - June 2021 - Learned to develop a classroom that is focused on the success and development of students and not a content-driven classroom. - Focused on growth and fixed mindset. Developing and adding to the SEL work students had previously received. Discussed and developed attributes to better develop skills for success, while also developing a safe atmosphere within the classroom. - Developed inquiry-based learning. I found that if I gave my students the foundational knowledge around a topic and then proposed a question, that we either worked on as a class or individually, the quality of work, the creativity and retention, and the students' passion for the content increased. - Inquiry-based learning allows for flexibility and equity opportunities for students of all educational backgrounds. - Differentiate how I establish that foundationary content through multiple outlets, such as the use of primary and secondary source documents, images from the time period, and the use of maps and videos to provide a wide array that overlaps to develop depth in the content.

COACHING EXPERIENCE Development of Skills Through my time as a coach, I have been able to develop many attributes that help foster my athletes' success. Just like teaching, coaching comes down to relationships and how you can develop those with your players. I have found that SEL is a huge part of coaching and developing STUDENT athletes. Through drills and leadership, I am able to hold, my athletes, to high expectations. Something that I learned early 0n is that no matter the outcome of the game there is also something you can learn or take away to get better.
