In order to honor our fisherman, the Bolinao town fiesta gave
birth to "Mangunguna," which later developed into a popular
tourist destination. The event lasts for one week, from April 9 to April 14.
The "Mangunguna Festival" is a large fiesta held in Bolinao,
Pangasinan. "Mangunguna" in Bolinao refers to a fisherman. The Mangunguna Festival is held in honor of the town's fishing and aquaculture industries as well as to highlight the community spirit and gratitude among locals for the wealth of their aquaculture sector. This is the community of Bolinao's primary source of income.
Bolinao celebrated the Mangunguna Festival with a jam-packed
schedule of thrilling activities, including street dancing competitions in which high school students from various Bolinao schools took part and watersports competitions at the river and the caquiputan channel.
