DIRECTION VISION AND TEXT TREATMENT BY THE IMAGE
THEATRE

ABSTRACT
The diversity of direction visions of contemporary theatrical movements and
trends has resulted in widening the aesthetic demands for the structure of the theatrical
discourse.This has placed the components and elements of the show in the second place
including the textual narration system which constituted in the early beginnings of the
theatre geographic arena and the ideological basis that provided the theatrical show with
most of its elegance and made it surpass other show elements .During the successive
developments the stage director has been liberated from the domination of the textual
structure and begun to deal with subjects with more depths and aesthetics .Hence a new
concept has been formulated under the title "textual treatment" with trends diversity
each trend has endeavored to treat in a distinctive way. The present study deals with the
direction vision of the image theatre tries treatment of the written text especially that the
image theatre tries to adopt aestheticl values related to the pictorial formulation of the
theatrical discourse show in a manner that goes in harmony with the contemporary stage
language .The study consists of the procedural frame which included the problem and
the need for the study the objectives and limitations. The paper also included a
theoretical which consisted of two sections. Section one deals with treatment of the text
in the light of contemporary theatrical trends. Section two deals with the composition in
the image theatre. The paper too showed the reasons behind choosing the study sample
and the procedures adopted in analyzing the image theatre which were directed by
(Salah Al-Qassab) the paper also arrived at some conclusions.
