National Health care

Amendment
Assignment 2.04A Amending the Constitution
By Thiago Fernandes
The Issue:
• The current state of the USA´s health care system is worrying as there
are a lot of notable flaws that should and mistakes that should not be
committed. These are not hard to solve, hence why an Amendment
would be a lot of help. Some of the most notable issues are:
- Accessibility, prices to be able to access health care are
skyrocketing, and this is a serious obstacle to all types of US citizens.
- Medical Errors, it has been studied that 10% of US citizen´s
deaths are due to careless medical errors and this needs to change.
- Not enough qualified employees,
Chart

• This chart indicates one of the issues in the US´s Health system, as
you can see the more urgent problems are accessibility and cost
rather than serious medical conditions, this takes a heavy toll on USA
citizens, and even though the chart is from 2009, things haven't got
that much better.
My proposed Amendment
• My Amendment proposal idea is to, first, have a minimal higher investment
rate by the government on the Health Care system, and with that fix the
access and price issues.
• I would also suggest the enforcement of proficiency when it comes to
personnel who work on duty at hospital, clinics, etc. By this I mean the
expectance of higher level of experience in the area. This would be a great
help on reducing Medical Errors
• Lastly, even though area of medical studies is already a well-developed
area, I think it should have just a little more attention given to it because,
for example, medical studies in Asia are superior. That would improve and
open doorways to future medical workers, later benefiting
the USA´s Health Care system.
Counter argument
• I sense that some, or rather, quite a lot of people would be against or
not giving to much attention to this proposed amendment. Well, to
counter argue them, I find it suiting to just display a chart that
compares the USA in this area compared to some other countries,
keeping in mind the USA has one of the most expensive countries. I
don’t think there is nothing else to add.
