Always check guidelines mentioned below CPT codes, these

guidelines are very important and useful to get correct code.
2. If there are Option with single CPt code and Multiple CPT code 90%
cases rule out multiple CPT code option
3. If there are CPt with modifier and without modifier maximum time we
choose option with modifier. This rule is 50% correct
4. If there are CPT in option with 51 Modifier in that always check
whether code main code or add on code. Code is Addon code never
take that option as we never use 51 modifier with Add on code
5. If there 2-3 option are from similar series and one or 2 option are from
different category rule out different category cpt
6. IF in option CPTs are mention with x3, x4 or x5 etc in that case
always check description of the code if description shows s(es) in
CPT code never take that option.
7. In digestive system surgery Maximum time there will be two option
Open approach and Laparoscopic approach. If physician start
procedure with Open approach take that code. If physician start
procedure Laparoscopically always read report in full and check the
possibility if physician convert this laparoscopic in to open approach.
In that case only code open procedure.
8. If all option of a Question are Single CPT in that case never read the
question first. First make a small description of all CPT codes and
identify the difference between them and search that difference in
your question.
9. If there are multiple CPT codes in each option in that case check how
many CPT;s are repeated. Rule out unique CPt code option
10. Never solve ICD question with option. Always find disease and
search that disease in Alphabetic index.
11. If physician mention Diagnostic scopy and Surgical Scopy in
that case rule out all option which have Diagnostic Scopy
12. Never select option in your CPC exam which have TC modifier
13. If options are with 26 modifier and without 26 modifier in that
case always check what the location where radiology service
provided. If its in office or clinic use option without modifier and if its in
hospital use option with 26 modifier
14. If option option are with Q6 modifier always check for Locum
Tenum Physician if locum Tenum physician mention in medical
record in that case we will take that option. if it is mention than take
without Q6 modifier option
