We also recommend that you check OpenText My Support (https://mysupport.opentext.com) for any
patches or documentation updates that may have been posted after the initial release of this product.
Brava! Server Components is a customized component delivery system intended for select
integrators. Administrators of Content Server (deploying Content Suite Viewer) and Brava! for Content
Suite are primary consumers of this product.
This is version number is 16.6.1.35 and contains components from Brava! Enterprise 16 EP7 Update
1.
Note: For the latest compatibility information for OpenText products, refer to the Compatibility
Matrix (https://knowledge.opentext.com/go/matrix) on OpenText My Support.
For additional installation information, including installation instructions, reference the “Server
Components for Content Suite Viewer Admin Guide” available on My Support.
1. If using Tomcat, please determine whether the heap memory settings are appropriate for the
installation; larger displaylistcache usage likely requires a larger maximum heap memory
setting. A maximum value of 512MB is set by the Brava! Enterprise installer for its bundled
Tomcat instance. The setting can be manually overridden in the installed Tomcat instance
with a more appropriate value.
2. When upgrading an existing Brava! Server Components install using the MSI package,
carefully consider whether any hotfix files were installed in that prior version. The cached
MSI will remove the hotfix files but the new MSI will not deploy new versions of the files if any
are older than the versions of the files added by the hotfix. This is a limitation of Windows
Installer technology. The solution is to manually re-install the hotfix files after the upgrade or
by first deleting the hotfix files before running the upgrade.
3. When Brava! is under load (in production or during performance testing) it is recommended to
add another Tomcat connector to handle the Done servlet. In Tomcat’s Server.xml file add the
following under the default setting of "Connector port”:
<Connector port="8081" protocol="HTTP/1.1"
connectionTimeout="20000"
redirectPort="8443"
maxThreads="200" />
Next, edit the Brava! Server.properties file and change the port on “done.servlet.url” to point
to the new port:
done.servlet.url=http://<Brava! Server>:8081/BravaServer
Restart all Brava! Enterprise services once both changes are made and saved.
6 Patches
A patch is a piece of software that is designed to fix or improve a computer program or its supporting
data. These may include repairs to security vulnerabilities or resolution of bugs and may also improve
usability or performance. On OpenText My Support you will find two general types of patches.
Hotfixes are also known as quick-fixes or bug fixes. Updates are also known as service packs or
service releases.
Updates consist of several fixes combined into a single patch. Typically, the third digit of the version
number of the product will increase, for example from 16.6.0 to 16.6.1. An update may also include
new features proactively introduced into the product. In most cases, updates are cumulative.
