1. Double-click the Videojet PrintMail WideArray icon on your desktop. The Videojet PrintMail WideArray splash screen appears.
2. Once the flash screen closes, the Videojet PrintMail WideArray Main window appears.
This window is your work area. It contains the tools to create, edit, and print your jobs. Depending on your print job, some tools may or may not
be available.
There are three tabs at the bottom of the Main window: Job, Template, and Data. These tabs are shortcuts to the print job setup.
the Job tab to print the job or to see the print job details.
the Template tab to edit an existing template or create a new template for the print job.
the Data tab to view any included text information that is merged into the print job. The text appears in its data form.
Menu bar Contains six menus that appear when you open the main window.
Toolbar Includes buttons that access some of the frequently used commands in the menus. To use a command, click the
button on the toolbar. If a command is unavailable, the button appears greyed-out.
Log Contains the Videojet PrintMail WideArray information. It shows the status of a job, such as when you started the
job, and when the job completed.
Shortcut tabs Facilitates movement from one major function to another. The shortcuts are Job, Template, and Data.
Low ink warning Appears only when the ink level is low.
Status bar Contains information about the print job on your screen. The information depends on what you are doing at a
particular time.
Use To
File Open a print job.
Edit View or modify the text and graphic elements of a template.
New Create a record block, message line, and an indicia. Also to add bitmap files, or create barcodes.
Data View the records of a data file.
View Customize your working window. You can view the toolbars, status bar, or ink levels and also zoom in/out
for viewing ease.
Help Get detailed procedures on how to do a task. Alternatively, you can press the F1 key for help on the current
dialog box or window.
Job tab, the File, Edit, View, and Help menus are available. The New and Data menus are not available.
Template tab, all the menus are available.
Data tab, the File, Data, View, and Help menus are available. The Edit and New menus are not available.
Note: When you are printing a job, all options are unavailable except the Stop Printing command.
Use the File menu commands to handle print jobs, templates, data files, print setup, and system setup. The File menu
remains the same whether you use the shortcut tabs of Job, Template, or Data.
The Edit menu displays different commands when selected from different tabs. For instance, when you select the:
Job tab, the Edit menu contains only the Validate command.
Template tab, the Edit menu contains commands for modifying the current selection.
Data tab, the Edit menu is not available.
Use the Edit menu to view or modify the text and graphics elements for a template. You can duplicate or delete any of the elements.
On the Edit menu, you can select different alignments for the elements and reposition each element.
On the menu bar, click New. The New options of Print Mail Wide Array appear.
The New menu displays different commands when selected from different tabs. For instance, when you select the:
The Barcode submenu lists industry-standard barcode formats. Use this submenu to add a barcode format. Each barcode has a specific function.

The Data menu displays different commands when selected from different tabs. For instance, when you select the:
Use the Data menu to view the data records. When in the Template tab, you can view the data either as actual formatted
text or just field labels without the text by selecting Show Data.
Use the View menu commands to customize your use of the VideoJet PrintMail WideArray screen. You can use the
commands in this menu to show or hide the toolbars, status line, check ink levels and usage, and set the zoom percentage.
The View menu is different for each screen tab.
When you select the Job tab, you see the following View menu commands. The Customize command has a submenu.
When you select the Template tab, you see the following View menu commands. The Customize and Zoom command have submenus.
When you select the Data tab, you see the following View menu commands. The Customize and Field Headers commands have
submenus.
Use the Help menu to get detailed procedures on how to do a task. The Help menu is the same for all the three screen
tabs (Job, Template and Data).
When a command is also available as an icon, the icon is shown next to the procedural step in this guide, similar to the earlier
example.
