council candidates garnered more votes than all the
other candidates combined. Add to that approximate
12,000 votes spread between the fourth and fifth place can-
didates and you have a massive statement for desired change.
Patrick Burns, the top election vote winner was followed
closely by Tony Strickland then Gracie Vavdemark then
Casey McKeon. Incumbent city attorney Michael Gates lead
the pack with about 65,000 votes citywide …truly a man with
a mission and obviously a popular HB resident.
What does all this mean? Actually I have no idea but we
all will see together in the coming months as they get sworn
in and perhaps sworn at…on December 6, 2022.

U.S. National Park:

T he words “For the Benefit and Enjoyment of the People” stretch across the north-
ern entrance of our nation’s first national park, Yellowstone.
According to the Department of Interior, the goal of the National Park Service is,
and has always been, to keep our wild places protected and unimpaired for future
generations. To that end, more than 400 areas and 84 million acres spanning all 50
states and several unincorporated territories of the United States, protect America’s
greatest natural treasures. With 61 of those wilderness areas toting National Park
designation, it can be tricky trying to pick which park to visit.
So, to help you determine which parks should be higher on your bucket list, we
ranked each park based on their overall accessibility, facilities and accommodations,
trails and attractions, crowds, and, of course, overall ‘wow’ factor, which we meas-
ured by photo ops and stunning scenery.
Keep in mind, it’s almost impossible to say that one is better than the next — there’s
truly something special about each one of our national parks.

Dry Tortugas National Park, FLORIDA

One of America’s least-visited national parks, Dry Tortugas consists of a chain of
seven islets, including historic Fort Jefferson, that sits 68 miles off the coast of Key
West. While the park is over 64,000 acres only one percent contains dry land, making
this an incredible park for snorkeling in crystalline waters, reef diving to shipwrecks,
and observing aquatic life like nurse sharks, parrot fish, and moray eels. In fact, the
park sits at the end of the Florida Reef system, so it isn't as damaged as nearby reefs
in the Florida Keys.
Often referred to as “The Guardian of the Gulf,” Fort Jefferson remains a major high-
light for visitors to Dry Tortugas. The fort, which was built to protect the strategic
deep-water anchorages of North America, is one of the most advanced military build-
ing projects of its time and also happened to house an iconic coconspirator of John
Wilkes Booth.
The easiest ways to get to the islands are by seaplane or ferry unless you can dish
out the dough for a private yacht. There is only one primitive campground, but unlike
other parks on this list, most of the park can be explored in a day. If you want to visit
Dry Tortugas, however, act fast — according to the National Center for Preservation
Technology and Training, rising sea levels and warmer air temperatures are taking a
toll on the islets, and they’re in constant threat of inundation.

that you can just stroll into. All the way up to the 1800s the
Blackfeet Nation occupied the area that once stretched as
far south as Yellowstone National Park before it was taken
in a land grab by the United States government. In 1895 the
US government worked out a pretty rough deal for the tribe
that garnered them only $1 million and the guarantee that
the area was meant to remain public lands. To make matters
worse, when the Blackfeet were removed from the land a
fence was put up to keep them from entering whenever the
felt like it, requiring them to get the permission of a park
ranger whenever they wanted to visit.

100.

most honest state, with a score of 21.2 out of 100.
Let’s face it, we all know someone who’s a bit of a
bluffer – whether it’s a work colleague, a best friend
or a family member. Whoever it is, they might simply
sugar-coat the truth, or maybe they actively tell serious
untruths?
Well, Gambling.com wanted to find out if people’s
location factors into telling more white lies. By re-
searching the most dishonest states in America using
Google search data on ‘tips on lying’, ‘how to bluff’,
‘Ashley Madison’, as well as divorce rates and Inte-
grity Scores, Gambling.com created an index ranking

Wyoming is officially the most dishonest US state,

Around the Holidays — Here's Why

T he holidays are all about spending
quality time with family, eating
good food, taking some much-needed
time off … and having sex?
As it turns out, research shows that
online interest in sex “peaks sharply”
during major, family-oriented cultural
and religious celebrations all over the
world. In the study, researchers used
Google Trends to see how often people
search for the word “sex” and noted it
went up around the holidays, reaching
its highest peak during the week of

ing during Eid-al-Fitr celebrations in
Muslim countries.
The researchers also pointed out that
these peaks in online sex-related
searches corresponded with birth rate
increases in the U.S. nine months later.
Experts say there are several reasons
why interest in sex picks up over the
holidays. Here, they break it down.
1. You’re on vacation
Not surprisingly, having time off
around the holidays tops the list. “Dur-
ing most of the year, most people are
working and their partner is working,”
Laurie Mintz, psychologist, sex thera-
pist and sexpert for the sex toy com-
pany Lelo, tells Yahoo Life. “You get
home at the end of the day and you’re
tired.” But over the holidays, people
typically get a break from work, feel
more relaxed and have some “extra
time” on their hands, says Mintz.
She also points out that some people
take trips over the holidays, and “we do
know that vacations increase sex.”
That’s because travel and “getting out
of your element increases sexual activ-
ity in couples,” Leah Millheiser, direc-
tor of the female sexual medicine
program at Stanford University Medi-
cal Center, tells Yahoo Life.
While some people find the holiday
season “totally joyful and relaxing,”
says Mintz, it’s downright stressful for
others. Although that can dampen de-
sire for some, “there are people who
cope with stress by having sex,” Mintz
points out. And while some may find it
a bit awkward to have sex under the
same roof as their parents if they’re
going home for the holidays, there are
people who "find it exciting,” says
Millheiser.
2. It’s “cuffing season”
Cuffing season is the time of year
when individuals feel
compelled to couple up
— even if it’s just tempo-
rary — to get through the
cold winter months.
While there isn’t much
research on the social
phenomenon, experts ex-
plain that cuffing season
makes sense since cud-
dling not only physically
warms you up when it’s
chilly out, but it also
feels good, boosting your
mood.
“When the temperature drops and it
gets cold earlier, there is often a change
of mood connected with the two chem-
icals of melatonin and serotonin in your
body,” psychologist Susan Albers-
Bowling told the Cleveland Clinic.
“Dark, cold nights can trigger an in-
tense feeling of loneliness and a drop in
serotonin, and there may even be a sig-
nificant link between cuffing season
and seasonal affective disorder.”
But being coupled up “makes us feel
cozy and creates a natural boost in se-
rotonin, that feel-good chemical in your
brain," she said, "and having someone
to bring with you to a holiday event or
family gathering can alleviate a lot of
dread and anxiety.”
3. Winter may boost sexual attrac-
tion
One study that looked at how men's
assessments of women's attractiveness
changed seasonally indicated that men
found women’s bodies more attractive
in the winter than in the summer, de-
spite — or maybe because of — being
bundled up.
Social psychologist and author Dr.
Justin Lehmiller explained why in his
sex and psychology blog: “Because
women wear sexier and more revealing
clothes in the summer months and bun-
dle up in the winter, the standard of
bodily comparison is much higher
when it is warmer outside (i.e., because
everyone is showing a lot of skin during
summer, the bar for what qualifies as
‘hot’ is set higher; in the winter, skin is
rarely seen, so it becomes more novel
and arousing to look at).”
He adds: “Another possibility is that
men’s hormone levels fluctuate sea-
sonally, thereby altering patterns of
attraction.”
4.You’re swept up in nostalgia
“There’s an emotional component
to the holidays," says Millheiser,
noting that there's something "nos-
talgic about the time of year,” re-
gardless of religous affilation. Those
sentimental feelings can increase the
desire to feel more connected to and
be more romantic with partners, in-
cluding being more intimate.
As Millheiser puts it, it’s that
“whole Hallmark phenomenon,” ex-
plaining that there is a reason why
people are "obsessed with these
movies — the holidays inspire in
people this feeling of love and kind-
ness and nostalgia.”
She adds: “For some, the holiday
is a reminder of the importance of
family and togetherness and bonding
for many.”
5. You’re starting to think about
New Year’s resolutions
Another factor may be pre-New
Year’s resolutions in which long-term
couples reflect on the previous year and
aim to give added attention to their re-
lationship, which can include having
sex more often, says Mintz. “I think
people start to think about how they
want the year to be better,” she says.
“‘I’m going to have more sex… I’m
going to make it a priority.’”
For couples whose sex lives have
been put on the back burner, prioritizing
intimacy — whether it’s affection or
sex — can help them feel closer and
more connected. In fact, cuddling, kis-
sing or having sex (with orgasms in par-
ticular) triggers the body to release the
hormone oxytocin (aka “the love hor-
mone”), which causes people to feel
more bonded with their partner.
Mintz explains that feelings of nos-
talgia and “at the same time taking
stock of how you want to do better —
those two in combination would be a
pretty potent cocktail for, ‘Let’s have
more sex.’”

How Much Does It Cost To
Charge an Electric Car?

lectric vehicles, or EVs, are a trending topic.
Governments worldwide, including those in the
U.S., Norway and China, have created policies
to speed the transition from vehicles that burn fossil
fuels to EVs.
There are obvious environmental benefits associated
with driving an electric vehicle. However, for most con-
sumers, the transition is about more than clean energy.
The general idea is that charging an electric car is less
expensive than filling a gas tank.
The Cost of Charging an Electric Car
No one-size-fits-all answer will explain how much it
costs to charge an electric car. Several variables deter-

mine the cost. While prices vary by region, type of
charger and time of day, it is possible to calculate a gen-
eral cost using averages of these variables. Here’s how:
The Cost of Electricity
One significant variable associated with charging an
electric car is the cost of the electricity itself, which can
be far more expensive in some regions than in others.
As such, EV owners should know the cost of electricity
in their area.
To calculate the cost, EV owners should grab their
most recent electricity bill and look for the cost per kilo-
watt hour, or kWh. This cost can range from $0.09 to
$0.35, but the national average is shy of $0.14.
Electric Car Charging Cost Formula
The formula for the cost of charging an electric car
is:
Cost to Charge = (CR / RPK) x CPK
• CR is car range
• RPK is range per kWh

The formula starts by dividing the electric vehicle’s
range in miles by its range per kWh. Once EV owners
have this number, they can multiply it by their specific
cost per kWh to determine how much it costs to charge
their electric vehicle.
Calculating How Much It Costs To Charge Your
Electric Car
Electric vehicles have different ranges, meaning some
go further than others on a single charge. The cost per
kWh can also vary wildly from one region to the next.
However, those are not the only variables to consider
when determining the cost of charging an electric ve-
hicle.

Charging Your Electric
Car at Home
Calculating how much it
costs to charge an electric ve-
hicle at home is relatively simple. Here are the steps:
1: Review your electric bills to determine the cost per
kWh.
2: Figure out how many miles your EV averages per
kWh. EVs typically get about three miles per kWh, but
that number can be slightly higher or far lower depend-
ing on the vehicle itself.
3: Determine the range of your electric vehicle in
miles.
4: Plug all of these numbers into the formula below.
For example, if the EV driver pays $0.14 per kWh,
their car gets an average of three miles per kWh, and it
has a total range of 360 miles, the formula would look
like this:
Cost to Charge = (360 / 3) x $0.14
The math in the formula shows that this particular
electric vehicle costs $16.80 to charge at home.

The 1964 Pontiac GTO blazed the way for
the American muscle car, in spite of Gen-
eral Motors' reluctance. Elderly and con-
servative clientele frowned upon these
new-fangled "super" cars. They bristled at
its rowdy cultural significance and winced
at superfluous displays of raw power. But
the folks over at Pontiac made it happen
anyway. Working on a car that Americans
would love, John DeLorean conspired with
Pontiac’s VP of Advertising, Jim Wangers.
The promotion went so well that 5,000
cars were on the order sheets before even
one car was built. The Pontiac GTO was
nothing short of badass. Car and Driver
magazine legendarily compared it to the
Ferrari GTO. Of course, it was named “Car
of the Year.” In 1965, sales numbers dou-
bled, and the muscle car race was well on
its way. Ford, Chevy, and Mopar began

even more depending on if the driver is a member of
the network they use.
However, the formula above still stands, as long as
the drivers know their cost per kWh at the specific net-
work they use. Using the same example above, say the
network charges $0.21 per kWh. The formula would
look like this:
Cost to Charge = (360 / 3) x $0.21
In this case, it would cost $25.20 to completely charge
the EV.
Is It Cheaper To Fill a Gas Tank or Charge an
Electric Car?
At the time of writing, the national average for a gal-
lon of gasoline was $3.39, and the average fuel tank ca-
pacity on a small vehicle was 12 gallons. Multiplying
these two numbers together says the average small ve-
hicle costs about $40.73 to fill up. But that does not tell
you the whole story.
The example of home charging above also used aver-
ages mentioned throughout this article. However, the
range of the vehicle in the example was 360 miles,
while the average small gas-powered car range is 403
miles. So the cost comparison is somewhat skewed.
Since 360 is about 89.33% of 403, it is important to
multiply the cost of filling up a gas tank by this percent-
age to create an apples-to-apples comparison. Using this
math, the average car with a 360-mile range would cost
about $36.38 to fill up, which is still a bit higher than
the average electric vehicle charge cost.
Final Take
Electric vehicles are cheaper to charge than the cost
to fill a gas tank. To save money, consider trading in
your gas guzzler for an EV.

sulting firm Rachel's Rx in Los
Angeles, California. "It's an exquisitely

daily habits (including diet, exercise,
sleep, and stress management) have a
much greater impact than any one sin-
gle intervention alone."
In other words, having healthy habits
and stress management practices will
be your best bet in boosting immunity.
"We can really boost our immunity
through diet alone. Consistent intake of
the micronutrients that help our bodies
fight disease, is a natural solution to in-
fection prevention," says Cassie Majes-
tic, M.D., an emergency medicine physician at UC
Irvine Medical Center in Orange, California. "Micro-
nutrients, or vitamins and minerals, are vital to disease-
prevention and health development."
We can really boost our immunity through diet alone.
Consistent intake of the micronutrients that help our
bodies fight disease, is a natural solution to infection
prevention.
Your body only needs small amounts of these nu-
trients (hence the "micro" in the name), but since the
body does not make them on its own, we must include
them in our diets. The best foods for the immune system
are often full of: Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Vitamin B6, Vi-
tamin A, Vitamin D3, Zinc, Magnesium and Probiotics.

"W ithout adequate nutrition, the immune system
is deprived of essential components that gen-
erate an effective immune response and resistance to in-

Howard Hughes made a number of forays into Or-
ange County during his Hollywood years.
In 1946, according to “Howard Hughes: The Untold
Story,” Hughes attended a Fourth of July boating party
to Santa Catalina Island that began at the Newport
Beach home of producer Bill Cagney, brother of actor
James Cagney.
During the party, Hughes’ attention was captured by
a stunningly beautiful 19-year-old starlet. Her name was
Jean Peters. That Peters was having a hot affair with her
date, World War II hero Audie Murphy, didn’t deter
Hughes, a notorious lady’s man.
Instead of boarding one of two yachts for the cruise
to Catalina, Hughes volunteered to fly Peters, Murphy
and several other guests across the channel. Hughes,
naturally, arranged to have Peters sit next to him in the
cockpit. Eleven years later, the former Ohio farm girl
became the second Mrs. Howard Hughes.
Hughes’ most historic link to Orange County, ho-
wever, occurred a decade earlier, on Sept. 13, 1935--
Friday the 13th.

"Dark leafy greens are high in magnesium and vi-
tamin E, a potent antioxidant," Swanson adds.

Probiotics are good for your gut and your immune
defenses.
"Yogurt [with live active cultures] will boost your
intake of probiotics to support a strong microbiome,
and as a result, a strong immune system," Fine says.

5. Mushrooms
Among the most diverse and versatile veggies
around (just look at all the types you can shop, chop,
and savor!), mushrooms are one of the top 10 im-
mune-boosting foods. The caps and stems offer beta-
glucans, Swanson says, which are soluble fibers that
research suggests may lower cholesterol, improve
blood sugar control, and strengthen immunity. Reishi,
shiitake, and maitake are especially rich in beta-glu-
cans.

pull the plane up, but his engine had died: The first gas
tank had gone dry. Hughes frantically tried opening a

It's also vital to steer clear of immune-weakening

• Added sugars
• Highly-processed items, including processed meats
and refined carbohydrates
• Excessive alcohol
"These foods and drinks can cause the body to act as
if it were fighting a bacterial infection, increasing the
release of inflammatory cells and in turn causing
chronic, unnecessary inflammation," Majestic says,
which puts your entire system at risk for attack by bac-
teria and viruses.

can actually be good for you and help prevent depres-
sion and anti-social behavior. It can also make you more
resilient when it comes to coping with future stressful
events. The keys to de-stressing in-
clude learning how to keep your
stress levels at a manageable level
through healthy habits, and finding
effective ways to relieve stress
quickly when it hits, so you can get
back to a more balanced state of
mind.
An occasional stressful week at
work or a bad argument are normal
parts of life. But when stress is
chronic, recurring, and negatively im-
pacting your life—and potentially
harming your mental and physical
health—it’s important to find the right
coping strategies to de-stress quickly.
If you find that you’re having trouble

back on track. Here’s how to relieve
stress quickly, according to science and experts.
Drinking Enough Water Is Cru-
cial When You’re Stressed—
Here's Why
Slow your breathing.
By slowing your breathing, you can actually help
your body relax more quickly than you think. You may
notice that when you’re stressed, your breathing be-
comes more shallow and concentrated in your upper
chest (that panicky, unpleasant, breathless feeling that
can make your heart race). Shifting your breathing to
your diaphragm (think: inhale into the belly vs. the
chest), can reduce your body’s stress response and reg-
ulate your nervous system.
“Often, we take shallow breaths when we’re stressed,
and this may cause our bodies to feel even more tense,”
says Ernesto Lira de la Rosa, Ph.D., licensed clinical
psychologist in New York City. To alleviate shallow
breathing associated with high stress levels, experts
often recommend practicing the 4-7-8 breathing
strategy, which is one of the fastest and easiest ways to
stop stress in its tracks.
“First exhale all of your breath through your mouth.
Then inhale through your nose for four seconds, hold
the breath for seven seconds and exhale the breath
through your mouth for eight seconds,” Lira de la Rosa
says. “Repeat this cycle at least four times. This tech-
nique helps your body activate the parasympathetic
nervous system (the stress brake pedal), so that your
body can begin to slow down.” (Bonus: This breathing
exercise is incredibly helpful for falling asleep.)

Your Own)
Try progressive muscle relaxation.
A number of muscle relaxation
strategies can help you de-stress. Two of
the most popular are guided imagery,
which means focusing intently on calm-
ing images like seascapes, and progres-
sive muscle relaxation, which involves
tensing and relaxing one muscle group at
a time. Muscle relaxation strategies have
the power not only to alleviate stress, but
to reduce headaches, anxiety, nighttime
awakenings, and how long it takes to fall
asleep. Lira de la Rosa explains that pro-
gressive muscle relaxation can help your
body activate the parasympathetic nerv-
ous system.
“Tense one body part at a time for five
seconds, then release the tension, repeat-
ing this one more time. You can start with
your toes, feet, calves, hamstrings, but-
tocks, stomach, chest, fingers, arms,
shoulders, neck, face and then end with
your forehead.”
Practice mindfulness or meditation.
Mindfulness, meditation, yoga, or a combination of
the three are all proven ways to reduce stress quickly. A
systematic review of 17 studies on mindfulness-based
stress reduction found that 16 of these studies demon-
strated positive changes in psychological or physiolog-
ical outcomes related to anxiety and/or stress. In fact,
mindfulness reduces physical markers of stress, such as
high cortisol levels, blood pressure and heart rate.
The way mindfulness works is simple: It slows your
mind down and gives you more control over your
thoughts, feelings, and reactions. “You may take a mo-
ment to observe your thoughts without judgment,” Lira
de la Rosa suggests. “Some people find it helpful to
imagine the thoughts going on a leaf that is flowing
down a stream. Every time a thought comes up, you can
visualize this thought just gently flowing down the
stream. This exercise can provide you with a quick
check-in with your thoughts and can help you practice
letting go of stressful thoughts.”
Quick and Easy Ways to Calm
Work Stress With Mindfulness
Exercise.
One of the best ways to kick stress fast is getting some
exercise. Whether that means hitting the pavement for
a run, kickboxing, or lifting weights, almost all forms
of physical activity are effective. Exercise has long been
touted as an essential part of overall health management,
especially for heart health, but it can keep your stress
levels low as well.
David Seitz, MD, a board-certified physician and act-
ing medical director of Ascendant NY, says exercise
doesn’t have to be complicated or even drawn-out to
provide benefits. It also doesn’t need to be formal or se-
rious. Make it fun by dancing or turning on an ’80s jazz-
ercise video. “Exercise releases endorphins, which have
mood-boosting effects,” he says. “Exercise also helps
to clear your mind and improve your sleep, both of
which can help reduce stress levels. If you don't have
time for a full workout, even a short walk or run can
help reduce stress.”

Write down your emotions.
When you’re full of unpleasant emotions—triggered
by stress or causing your stress (or both)—expressing
yourself verbally is a powerful tool to process your
thoughts and find some relief. Susan Bernstein, PhD,
who provides psychological coaching and support for
business leaders, says writing out your emotions is a
proven and effective way to reduce
stress. Research has found that expres-
sive writing, or journaling, can help re-
duce anxiety in those with expressive
personalities.
“When we feel stressed, our mind can
ruminate and start weaving stories that
are not necessarily supportive,” Bern-
stein explains. “I recommend getting a
pen and paper and writing out the situ-
ation and your thoughts about it. Most
importantly, include your feelings in
your writing.” Writing by hand is most
effective, she adds, because it can help
you name and tame your emotions.

Have a really good laugh.
A good, deep laugh can make you
feel better quickly, especially when
laughter comes from the belly. Experts
have long studied the therapeutic benefits of laughter

(a stress chemical) levels in the body and alters sero-
tonin and dopamine levels, which are both responsible
for mood and happiness.
Steven M. Sultanoff, PhD, a clinical psychologist
and professor, says humor “shifts distressing emo-
tions” and your perspective into a more positive direc-
tion, while deep, “heartfelt” laughter provides physical
stress relief in the form of muscle relaxation: “[It]in-
stantly reduces physical stress and tension.”
Practice these strategies consistently.
While these suggestions can relieve stress quickly,
long-term stress relief and management involves de-
veloping some healthy everyday habits. If you practice
deep breathing regularly, engage in exercise, get
enough sleep every night, and make it your mission to
laugh more, you can promote healthier stress levels in
your life.
“The difficulty with stress is that over time, our
bodies begin to adapt to our stress levels. That’s why
stress relief can feel temporary if we do not take active
measures to manage it on a regular basis,” Lira de la
Rosa says. “It’s possible to experience long-lasting ef-
fects of stress relief, but this comes with continued
self-care and practicing stress-relieving exercises.”
You don’t need to wait until you’re at your breaking
point to do some gentle breathing exercises or start
journaling. Reflect and identify what tends to trigger
stress for you, as well as what stress feels like when it

punching an Oregon State fan on the field at Reser Stadium following the
Ducks' loss to the Beavers on Saturday.
Johnson was walking off the field when he was seen hitting the fan in the
head from behind. It’s unclear what, if anything, was said before the hit.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is battling both pancreatic cancer
and Parkinson’s disease, according to a new report citing leaked Krem-
lin emails.

“I can confirm he
has been diagnosed
with early stage Par-
kinson’s disease, but
it’s already progres-
sing,” the security services insider reportedly claimed.
“This fact will be denied in every possible way and hidden,” the
source said, according to The Sun.
“Putin is regularly stuffed with all kinds of heavy steroids and inno-
vative painkilling injections to stop the spread of pancreatic cancer he
was recently diagnosed with,” the person said.
“It not only causes a lot of pain, Putin has a state of puffiness of the
face and other side effects — including memory lapses,” the source
continued.
“In his close circle, there are rumors that in addition to pancreatic
cancer, which is gradually spreading, Putin also has prostate cancer,”
the insider added.
Rumors about Putin’s supposedly poor health have been circulating
for months, with several unconfirmed reports saying the president is
battling cancer.
The Kremlin has always denied that Putin, who likes to project an
image of strength, suffers from any illnesses.

The bombshell report comes after Putin was recently captured on
video with what appeared to be IV track marks on the back of his hand
as he was grasping a soldier’s arm while visiting a boot camp in the
Ryazan region.
Kyiv Post journalist Jason Jay Smart tweeted screenshots from the
video, with the mystery blemish clearly visible on the Kremlin leader’s
hand.
Smart wrote that the Kremlin released two versions of the video from
Putin’s trip: one with numerous watermarks obscuring the view of the
hand, and another without the image of the hand.
Another theory, put forth by former Ukraine correspondent Tom
Warner, suggested that what looks to be an IV mark could be “just a
weird angle of bulgey [sic] veins.”
Apparent IV track marks were seen on Putin's hand recently. A mys-
tery mark is seen on Vladimir Putin’s right hand, circled in red, during
his trip to a training ground in the Ryazan region of Russia.
Rumors about Putin’s supposedly poor health have been swirling for
months, fueled in large part by unsubstantiated reports from the Tele-
gram channel General SVR, which claimed that he suffers from cancer,
Parkinson’s and a schizoaffective disorder.
The Russian independent outlet Proekt claimed that Putin is always
accompanied by medical personnel, including top oncologists, whe-
never he goes on official visits.
After Putin canceled a trip to Kazakhstan in July, Kremlin spokes-
person Dmitry Peskov made a rare statement about the leader’s phys-
ical state, telling reporters that “everything is fine with his heath.”

regions of Ukraine that Russia claims to have annexed.
Game theory specialist Georgy Egorov has warned that a nuke attack
“makes sense” for Putin if he only has a few months to live, The Sun
reported.
“It makes sense to use nuclear weapons for Putin in only one situation
– if the rumors about his health problems are true — if he has a few
months left to live — he does not want to go down in history as a loser,”
Egorov told Novaya Gazeta.
Putin said at a conference of international foreign policy experts that
it was unnecessary for Russia to strike Ukraine with atomic weapons.

onvicted madam Ghislaine Maxwell
has said she feels “so bad” for her
“dear friend” Prince Andrew — and
heartbroken at the end of her “special friend-
ship” with former President Bill Clinton.
In a series of jailhouse interviews for an
upcoming TV documentary, Maxwell de-
cried the fact that famous friends have been
hurt and “canceled” through their association
with her and late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Among those was 42nd commander-in-
chief Clinton, whose already sullied rep-
utation was further tarnished when it
emerged he flew on Epstein’s so-called “Lo-
lita Express” private jet.
“It was a special friendship, which con-
tinued over the years,” Maxwell said of her
close ties with Clinton.
“We had lots in common. I feel bad that he
is another victim, only because of his asso-
ciation with Jeffrey,” she told documentary
filmmaker Daphne Barak, according to ex-
cerpts in the Sun.

“I understand that he, like others, can no
longer consider me as a friend,” she said.

Still, in a series of face-to-face interviews
starting when Maxwell was still in custody
in Brooklyn, the convicted sex trafficker also
backed her royal pal’s much-derided claim
that the photo of him hugging his then-teen-
age sex accuser, Virginia Roberts Giuffre,
was fake.
“At this time, I no longer believe that to be
a true image, and I don’t believe that it is
what it appears to be,” she told Barak accord-
ing to other excerpts published by the Daily
Mail.

cence, blaming pre-trial publicity for unfairly
making her appear as a “wicked witch.”
“I have read and seen and heard and had
reported to me so many monstrous inaccu-
racies that I can’t even start to pick apart all

of them,” she insisted, again saying she
would be “super-happy to address” them
“after the appeal.”
She singled out then-President Donald
Trump as one of the few willing to keep an
open mind about the accusations ahead of the
trial in Manhattan federal court that ended
with her sentenced to 20 years in prison.
“We knew each other and mingled in the
same circles, in New York, Palm Beach. I
was very grateful when he wished me well,”
she said of Trump’s comments after she was
arrested.
“He got bad media for it, but he dared,
while others didn’t. I was honored he re-
membered me. Well, he is known to say what
he thinks. It gave me a big boost,” she said.

women who can identify with my story.”

had relationships with men that in hindsight

“I imagine there’s not a woman on the
planet who would not think that about one or
other of their boyfriends.”
The socialite daughter of disgraced media
baron Robert Maxwell was interviewed
twice for the upcoming doc — over the
summer in the Metropolitan Detention
Center in Brooklyn, and then a few weeks
ago in her current home in Tallahassee’s Fed-
eral Correctional Institute.
During her chats, she continued whining
about conditions — while claiming that a fel-
low jailbird had plotted to “murder” her.
Prince Andrew has long insisted he was
oblivious to Epstein’s perverted acts. He set-
tled with Giuffre for a reported $12 million
earlier this year without admitting guilt.
Clinton’s spokesman has long maintained
that the former president “knows nothing
about the serious crimes Jeffrey Epstein” was
involved in.
He said that he had only flown on his jet a
handful of times — with his Secret Service
detail alongside him — and had “not spoken
to Epstein in well over a decade” before his
arrest and death in 2019.
