HISTORY
Hans Peter Weis was born in Zell Mosel, Germany where he grew up working in his family
vineyard and wine cellar. From a young age, Weis found a passion for wine before continuing
his education and receiving a degree in Winemaking, Business & Agriculture in Germany. Weis
traveled away from home, around the US, to gain experience throughout the different wine
regions before settling down in the Finger Lakes Region.

Weis Vineyards opened in the spring of 2016 with the first harvest in the fall of 2016. The only
tasting room of the time opened and the first vintage was released in 2017. Originally Weis
Vineyards was a one-room schoolhouse but has since expanded with more tasting rooms off
Keuka Lake.

TIMELINE
• 2006: Weis moves to the Finger Lakes Region
• 2016: The first vintage is harvested

• 2020: First estate vineyard planted
• 2021: New tasting rooms open
