[BK4]~ RA11313 | Safe Spaces Act

Filomeno A. Lopez

REFLECTION:
Inside of the Campus, I honestly feel extremely safe, however, once I got out of the

campus, that’s the time where I feel totally scared especially at night time. Within the University,

majority of the people are very welcoming and at the same time, everyone just feels light to one

another. If you need something, if you broke something, or whatever problem it is, the Tamaraw

community is ready to help. I couldn’t ask for a better community enough. Even the community

seems to be very promising, the outside world is the one that creates these fears from the people

that eventually makes them apprehensive to the quality of safety around the area. I think the best

way to avoid any form of harassments is to educate people how to protect themselves to the

predators. FEU can implement more sessions in WRP about Self-Defense or any other activity

that will awaken your sense of physical strength because there are times that these kinds of

situations unexpectedly happens, and if it unfortunately happens to someone, he/she will already

have enough knowledge to fight back and be able to protect themselves. Moreover, a person

could also minimize their usage of their devices, most especially if they’re out at night time,

since these devices can be a stimulus for the predators to commit a crime. All things considered,

but I think that there is nothing better than having an ample amount of education to one another.

Being educated about knowing how to protect yourself will not only benefit you, you can also

help other people if they happen to be in this kind of situation. This will eventually lead people

to learn about the importance of physical defense as well as its power to save one another.
