Legalization of marijuana

In the United States, the debate over the legality of marijuana has been continuing for a

long time, depending on its medicinal or recreational usage. There have been several arguments

in favour of marijuana legalization. Among the advantages of adopting marijuana for medical

use are alleviating nausea and treating glaucoma (Gonçalves et al., 2019). This aids individual

who may be experiencing medical problems. It has been shown that marijuana considerably

reduces some of the adverse effects of cancer, extending the lives of terminally ill individuals.

Numerous individuals depend on this drug to relieve their suffering and pain. Additionally, it

may aid chemotherapy patients in reducing nausea.

While there have been several arguments in favour of marijuana legalization, there are

also numerous arguments against it. First, the legalization of marijuana might boost robberies of

marijuana-selling companies. Due to the great need for marijuana and the cash on hand

connected with its sale, some individuals may resort to theft to get the drug. Legalizing

marijuana may also cause an upsurge in the number of intoxicated drivers on the road. Drivers

under the influence of the drug may cause accidents due to their inability to maintain mental

stability after excessive usage. Due to the drug's potentially harmful effects, the emergency

department of a healthcare facility would witness an increase in the number of patients.

From this perspective, my opinion on legalizing marijuana is to legalize it positively.

Individuals in the medical field should be educated about the advantages of taking medication

with the approval of doctors to minimize misconceptions. This drug can save lives and help

persons when administered appropriately. Those afflicted with cancer, glaucoma, epilepsy, pain

and asthma may use it without risk. It provides benefits that any other way cannot achieve.

Understanding this sort of drug may positively affect the treatment of health disorders.
