WHAT IT’S LIKE TO BE TRANSGENDER Lee Mokobe

Lee Mokobe

The speaker prays in a cathedral
He ask the God to fix him
He doesn’t get answers
He was ashamed of his body
His mother comforted him by saying that he could geow up into
anything (boy or girl )
He decided to be a boy
When he turned 12, the boy phase wasn’t deemed cute anymore
Some aunts reminded him that if he went on with boys kind of
attitude he would never bring a husband home
The kids in school found some truth about him and called him
“lesbian”
His mother fears he would fade away like Mya Hall, Leelah
Alcorn, Blake Brockington – who either committed suicide or
shot
No one thinks of them as humans
His body is a feast or everybody
Trans suicides are increasing
They are not transgenders because of their sin
They should love their body
He feels that : may be he is fixed, may be he doesn’t care
