Prosodic features.

Intonaton : Australian English speakers often use rising instead of falling intonation at the
end of sentences which are not questions.

Australian accents sometimes give the impression that make statements sound like a
questions because they (Australian people) usually use intonation at the end of sentences. In
addition, Australian also eliminates the pronunciation of "r" when pronouncing.

The Australian speaker's tongue, low and back, produces a sound 'ah' sound to pronounce
endings such as "ure", "re", "er".

e.g : treasure, centre, water.

Stress : Usually American English stresses the last syllable, while British and Australian
English stress the previous syllable.

e.g : Adult /’æd. ʌlt/ (australian) and /ə’dʌlt/ (american)

Garage / ’gær . ɑ:ʒ / (australian) and / gə ‘rɑ:ʒ / (american)
