Management Information System
ASSIGNMENT 2
1) We can compare the two projects in term of risks factors which emphasizes on the size of the project, the structure of the project and the technical experience.
 As for the size, the time tracking solution project consume more resources (as per time consumption or the technology that will be used) than the

extranet interface design. The time tracking evolves designing an effective algorithm, to have well-structured database so that every freelancer can
manage properly his activities,
 When it comes to the structure, since this procedure is quite simple, it might be simpler to identify the needs of the time-tracking program. This can

be a difficulty with the second project because knowing what makes the user interface challenging and coming up with solutions to make it easier to
use are fewer concrete qualities than reporting on time.
 As for the technical expertise, the user are not required to have huge technical skills.

2) a)
Information System is essential for modern businesses. Enterprise systems are being widely
use by organizations. It’s important for the information flow inside and outside the IT
infrastructure. Collecting and storing data about the company becomes easier and more
accessible. Below are some benefits of enterprise systems.
 Higher management performance:
It handles enterprise activities that require management, including human resources,
production, sales, customer support, inventory, and supply. All these activities are
handled effectively in such a way the organization’s management becomes easier.

 Better accuracy and availability of information:

Enterprise systems permit effective data collection, processing, and storage on

production, sales, supplies or customers. Thus, a single data system is used and
maintained instead of a number of separate databases that need regular checks and
synchronization to remove obsolete or duplicate records.
b)
Despite its many advantages, cloud computing is not without its issues. You should be
aware of these if you're considering moving your business into the cloud. Below are some
of these.
 Limited control of cloud infrastructures:
As a customer, you only have a minimal control over the management and monitoring
of your cloud services. The major part of it is manage and monitored by the cloud
service providers. You will be able to manage the applications, data and services
operated on the cloud, but you won't normally have access to key administrative
tasks, such as updating and managing firmware.
 Cloud server downtime:
The cloud servers can face some technical issues like system reboot, network outage
and downtime. These events can incapacitate business operations and processes, and
can be damaging to business.
