REACTION PAPER ON “PK” (FILM)

Rajkumar Hirani’s movie entitle “PK” translate has drunk person is written by Hirani and
Abhijat Joshi starring Amir Khan and Anushka Sharma in the lead role was released on 19
December 2014. Is a story about an alien who lands upon planet earth, without any
understanding of language or any way to communicate. He lost his remote or the device that will
take him home, without this he cannot go back home and he got stuck on the planet earth. His
quest on retrieving the remote made him encounter different beliefs and practices of people. He
exposes God men who promise to resolve problems by asking people for money, donations and
converting people into dominant religions while blaming other religions.  PK makes people think
about the kind of world we live in and makes people look at God with a different perspective
The first thing that catches my attention while watching this film is the pureness and
innocence of the pk. His perspective to the normal activities of humans made it more refreshing
to my eyes. The humor that they put made it light but meaning full. It showcase how complicated
but beautiful humans are. The search for his remotes made turns to different path that lead him to
God. The only thing he thought that could help him since this was the only thing that most
people hold on to when they don’t have any. This is an accurate depiction of most of us. By the
time a woman figure out that she is carrying a baby in her womb that child has already a distinct
religion to follow. Culture and tradition to obey. In a young age we are told to do and follow
different practices like they thought us the right from wrong but does it really the right way?
Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Sikhism and Buddhism are some of the religion that
exist in this world. Different practices and Gods to obey. From thousands of them which are the
right and wrong? When PK is searching for God, long list of it appears; Jesus Christ, Yahweh,
Allah, Brahman, Waheguru, Buddha and many more. Religion is one of the most sensitive topic
that people are afraid to talk about. That is why lot of confusion were made and that made this
movie controversial. Since the setting of the film was in India were this practices are common.
Some agree some not but for me this movie answers one out of a thousand question in my life
that is, which God should I believed?
I conclude two things after watching this film. First, is even though there are many
religion in world and practices that we obey people really have strong faith. I see the passion
they have. But on the other hand, I wish this faith is actually done in the right way because even
if people are not sure whether the things they are doing are right they are still willing to do it.
Second, thing I presume that religion separate people, this wrong practices make people blind to
the truth. One of the respected people I know says that when you see the truth closing your eye
will become a sin. This false teaching made people believe on something that are totally wrong.
This God men who try and fool other by acting as agent of God. They live instilling fear among
people. The fear of God that if anything wrong they do, they will go to hell. Or even using Gods
name to earn profit.
The lesson I learn from this film is that there are two God, the god who made us all and
the other is the God who we made. We don't know nothing about the God who created us but we
all praise the God human created. Believes in the God who creates us all and the God who made
by man negate it. This is a highly recommended movie for everyone who wants a refreshment in
their life.
