1. Copy or paste one article from the newspaper in a separate sheet. Then evaluate and explain if it contains the key
components of a good story. Write your evaluation in the box below.

2. Encircle the cohesive devices used in the news article that you have copied or posted.

DAY 4
PERFORMANCE TASK
1. Write a news item in 2-3 paragraphs. Follow activities on pp. 139-140 as your guide.
2. Practice reading your news article.
Be ready to deliver it orally observing the proper intonation, tone and fluency.
3. Add your intro like introducing yourself and what news station you are in.
For your extro, it is how you end your news.
For example: And that’s the news for today, this is Froilan reporting.
4. Follow the Tips on Presenting Your News on page 141
5. Capture yourself delivering the news through a video. You may ask some of your family members to help
you out.
6. For those who find difficulty in capturing yourself through a video, you may submit only your audio.
Record only your voice through the voice recorder of your cell phone.
Send your video/ audio in the group chat or through email.
5. For those who have no access of the internet, write your news in a piece of paper. Make some necessary
symbols to show your intonation and stresses.
