What is Passover?
➢ In history, The Jewish
people were slaves ,
and they wanted to be
free.
➢ After that, they were
freedom from slavery.
Passover is the day
that the Jewish people
remember that.

• People of God have observed fixed feasts,


beginning with Passover.
• This feast takes place in early spring for the
Jews.
• The feast known as Pesach reminds all Jews
of their escape from Egypt over 3000 years
ago.

• The items of food on the Seder plate are


symbolic of the Exodus story.
• The book of the story, the Haggadah, is read by
everyone at the table, usually led by the father or
grandfather.
• Everyone recalls the past and thinks about what
it means for Jews today.

come from?
• The name Passover
comes from when the
Angel of Death passed
over the homes of the
Jews, because
they had been
forewarned, and had
put lambs blood on
their doors, so that
death would spare
their first born child.
