Evans - Prospective Parliamentarian
1. PREAMBLE
The democratic progressive party is a political party in Malawi founded in February 2005 by
former president, Professor Bingu Wa Mutharika. The party has an astounding record of
winning three consecutive general elections with the following statistics: in 2009, the party
secured 66.17% in presidential elections and 114/193 in National assembly elections. In 2014
the party secured 36.4% in presidential elections and 51/193 in National assembly elections.
In 2019 the party secured 38.57% in presidential elections and 62/193 in National assembly
elections.
Evans Jimu, a prospective candidate for Thyolo North constituency, assembled a team of
intellectuals formed to work and implement different projects and activities in line with the
democratic progressive party’s vision, mission and objectives to reach the desired impact for
the party, local constituents and Malawi as a developing nation.
In 2019, Evans, a prominent and well experienced politician, embarked on diverse campaign
techniques, including door to door campaign exercises, Mini rallies, road shows, that served a
greater mile in realizing the winning of the democratic progressive party and 40+ member of
parliaments under the party’ ticket.

The eastern region, Thyolo district in particular, is both an irrefutable and vibrant voter base
for the Democratic progressive party and its delegated candidates. The member of parliament
for Thyolo North constituency has barefacedly and incompetently derailed the pace of

constituents. It is therefore, highly imperative to campaign intensively from a distance in
time, through strategic developmental projects targeting women and the youth that strengthen
revolution campaigns and form the beacon of change. This in turn, will maximize and realize
our ultimate objective of fielding a strong, invincible and unbeatable candidate in the
subsequent general elections.
