WRITING TASK 1
The pie charts enumerate the alteration in terms of the proportion of 5
distinct family expenditures including food and drink, amenity bills,
commune, entertainment, and finally others between the UK and New Zealand
during 28 years.
In general, what stands out from the chart is that the highest household
expense went on amusement activities in the UK. Meanwhile, the amount of
budget for other sectors gained by far the least popular among occupants of
each house.
In 1980, New Zealand’s spending on households was more evenly distributed
than in the UK, which was more concentrated on the expense sectors. More
specifically, in the sector of food and drink, the proportion of them was higher
than in New Zealand reach at 29%; whereas the UK spent only 6% less on this.
There was a narrow ratio of 1% in both the UK and New Zealand in the
proportion of utility bills, which shows the expending on this was less in the
UK at 26%, meanwhile in New Zealand at 27% during this period.
By 2008, recreation activities had become the dominant sector in the UK with
a hefty 34% of expense and had double the cost of entertainment activities in
New Zealand. While the total budget of the UK citizens on transportation was
14%, it was 2% higher than in New Zealand. Stood at the bottom of the family
expenditures were other categories with a similar number of 11% in both
continents in both years.
