There are two facets of Tagaytay City: agricultural and urbanized.

Agriculture remains to be an integral

contributor to the city’s economy and development. About 1,292 hectares of land, or about 20% of the
total land area, are dedicated to agricultural purposes.

Tagaytay’s soil is rich in volcanic components that make it suitable for farming. The slope also
contributes to the capability of the land for cultivation. Its primary agri-products are pineapple, coffee,
banana, cacao, camote, cassava, and root crops. Fruits and vegetables and cut flowers are also
prioritized.

The cut flowers industry supplies both local and global markets. One has undoubtedly seen the stretch
of Tagaytay-Calamba Road full of garden plant shops. Because of the residential and commercial booms,
the land dedicated to flower farms was not as sizable as it was once. There used to be hectares of daisy
and gladiola farms.

Cattle raising is also an important industry in Tagaytay City. The ranch supplies the local entrepreneurs’
beef needs since this is the main ingredient of bulalo (beef marrow stew), a famous delicacy in the city.

Another popular offering is crispy tawilis (herring). Tawilis is a freshwater sardine found in Taal Lake,
although it is already considered endangered. Tilapia (cichild) farming is another source of livelihood of
the Tagaytayeños.

Due to its breathtaking environment, Tagaytay is one of the most popular locations in the south. Given
its high height, it has views of Taal Lake and Taal Volcano and a cold environment. As a result, it is
possible to see the volcano and lake from many locations. This also explains how it got its name and why
one of its main businesses is tourism.

The fresh winds and tourist attractions of Tagaytay City, including a breathtaking view of the Taal
Volcano, are its most well-known features. Aside from this, this lovely city is much more than what the
casual traveler initially sees.

The Taal Volcano, located in the province of Batangas, is said to be the second-most active volcano in
the Philippines, after Mount Mayon, which is located in Albay. On the island where some people reside
surrounding the lake and the volcano, the Taal Volcano has reported about 38 eruptions that have
resulted in deaths. The Ring of Fire also includes the Taal volcano.

Ring of Fire or the Pacific ring of fire, the Rim of fire, the Girdle of fire, or the Circum-Pacific belt
is where most of the volcanic eruptions and earthquakes occur around the Pacific Ocean. It is
also where plate tectonics creates movement and starts to destroy the lithospheric plates
which are the outermost shell of our planet that is located under and around the Pacific Ocean.
Let us look deeper into a recent phenomenon that might have a long-lasting impact on the
real estate market in the bustling city of Tagaytay and its neighboring municipalities.

The real estate market is dependent on four factors: demographics, ongoing interest rates,
the local and national economy, and government policies and support. To minimize the
effect of a natural disaster to these factors, the community has to be robust in its efforts to
bounce back the soonest possible time from a calamity

People desire to feel comfortable and safe (protected from risk or harm). Today, however, security is a
problem in every part of our lives, and trust in the groups charged with keeping us safe is low.

Having a preparation plan can be essential to securing a safe exit from danger for you, your loved ones,
and your property in the case of a natural disaster. In an emergency, planning is essential, but it's as
critical to remain calm and focus. Evacuate if ordered to do so. If you are not evacuating, use your
time wisely to make preparations.
