Some Key Things To Note When Writing A Manifesto

 Be concise and use clear language. Avoid long, complicated words – you won’t
win awards for being clever and you might just alienate important voters.
 Set out your previous experience and how this will help you if you got elected.
 Set out your goals for your time in the office and ensure they are realistic and
achievable.
 Your manifesto is about you and not your opponents. Don’t waste words trying to
discredit them.
 Talk about your skills that would indicate to voters your suitability for the role.
 It doesn’t have to be long- in fact, it shouldn’t be. Short and sweet works best.
You’re only allowed 600 characters per section that will be displayed to voters on
the website.
 Be creative and inspiring.

Manifesto For SRC Financial Secretary (Sample)

                                    MANIFESTO BY:

TWENEBOA KODUA KELVIN FOR SRC FINANCIAL SECRETARY

Mr Speaker, current SRC executive, honourable member of parliament, college aspirant,

student of this noble institution, ladies and gentlemen.

Who amongst you has ever thought about a government without a finance minister? An
organization or institution without an accountant? Or even an association without a financial
secretary? What do you think such a government or an institution would look like?

I am Tweneboa Kodua Kelvin a second-year accounting student of this great institution and
an aspirant for the office of FINANCIAL SECRETARY for the 2021/2022 academic year.
KNUST is a very big institution with many students who have the potential to carry on this
mandate, but I would like to explain to you why I am the chosen one for this office.

Mr Speaker, managing the finance of an organization I believe is no joke. There should

certainly be a person with integrity to help in that field, and unlike others, I strongly believe in
ethics, principles and presenting nothing but the truth at all times, no matter who is watching
or who is in charge. Therefore, here are some policies I will put in place if, given the mandate,
they are: one, getting more sponsors for colleges of the University to support programs and
other activities.
Mr Speaker, this is because the colleges need more funding to organize education and
business-oriented programs for students of this great institution and also to increase the fund
given to the brilliant but needy students in this institution.

Mr Speaker, my second policy is to increase the number of beneficiaries for the Ketoa bia
nsua (KBN) fund. This is because the number of students that will be enrolled into the
University for the 2020/2021 academic year will increase because of the Free education
system that was introduced some years ago at the second cycle level.

Mr Speaker, boosting the finance of this body is one of my main objectives. I intend to do
this, with the assistance of the whole executive body. This will be achieved by designing new
souvenirs which students will be interested in to boost our finance as a body.

Look no further, for the right person is in front of you. Matter of financial nature are a very
sensitive part of every association or institution, and for that matter, it needs someone with the
requisite knowledge, skill, ability and competence to handle such matters.

We can’t be a victim of a financial crisis for that matter Vote Tweneboa Kodua  Kelvin as
your next SRC financial secretary.
