What does integrity means to me (nursing related).

The dictionary definition of integrity is: “the quality of being honest and having strong moral
principles; moral uprightness.” A lesser-known definition is: “the state of being whole and
undivided.” Both of these are suitable definitions that are applicable to the nursing world. At its very
heart, integrity insists that we act according to the values upheld by the nursing profession.

At the core of the concept, having integrity means that you are truthful and honest in your intent.
This means that whether you are alone or surrounded by people, your actions will be the same. It
doesn’t matter if people are watching; you will do the right thing regardless.
I'm sure that most of us have faced ethical dilemmas in your work, and that your integrity has been
tested. I'm willing to bet that in most instances you've made the ethically correct -decision. In my
opinion, integrity is our most important attribute. I believe that nothing is more crucial than being
true to yourself and having integrity. Nursing is a principled patient-centered profession that
routinely stands on high moral ground.

Nurses are now the voice of integrity and honesty during the COVID-19 pandemic, a time when
these attributes seem to be in short supply. Nearly everything about the coronavirus outbreak is
frightening and confusing, from the risk of becoming extremely sick or dying to the rapid spread of
incorrect or misleading information. Some people are uncertain about or flatly against isolation and
the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) commonly used by nurses and other medical
professionals; because they are seen as knowledgeable, ethical, and honest, nurses can help the
public protect themselves and others from the spread of COVID-19.

As such, I will be honest, truthful and be always ready to help the needy without Any reservations.
Moral uprightness is already imbibed in my character which is one of the core values of concept of
integrity.
