The Parks & Recreation Department strives to meet the recreational needs of all ages in our community. In this
brochure you will find various pre-school program through activities for the older members.
The Winter Wonderland is back after the COVID-19 interruption. Horse drawn wagon rides around the Green will
be back for the Christmas Tree Lighting on December 2nd. Groups can reserve the wagons in advance.
New programs include Kendama Club from grades 5-8, a crafts program for youth, and video memories, an intergen-
erational program for seniors to share many on their life observations & experiences with their grandchildren.
Staff have brought back “12 Days of Giving” that recognizes people who have made a positive impact in the commu-
nity.
As always, people can enjoy a delicious breakfast at the Community Center on weekdays & nutritious lunches for
seniors weekdays, except Wednesdays.
Weather permitting, Mill Pond will be open for supervised ice skating. Trails at Bittner Parks, East River Preserve
offer excellent cross country skiing, snow shoeing & hiking. Sledding is popular at Baldwin School hill & the small hill at
Bittner Park.

Fitness Class Descriptions
CARDIO TONE: Cardio Tone combines the definition of muscles and cardio exercise for a total body
workout. Participants will improve cardio endurance and increase muscle strength and flexibility. The
workout will include resistance training to work different muscle groups. We will use weights, body
bars and band combinations, finishing each class with floor work, core and stretching.
DEEP GENTLE YOGA: For all levels, experience postures, slow meditative movements to warm
and stretch the body, and soothing breathing techniques to release stress, an opportunity to slow
down and deepen your practice.
STRENGTH(CHAIR BASED): Focuses on building muscle from our chairs. Safe and effective way
to strengthen the body with light weights and bands. All work will be done from the support of the
chair.
YOGA: Hatha style practice which offers a slow flow and longer holds. Class offers an introduction to
breathing (pranayama) and meditation. Practice will lend itself to all levels, beginner to seasoned
yogi.
ZUMBA TONING: Incorporates the international music of Zumba with light weight resistance to
create a fun workout that will burn calories, strengthen, sculpt and tone muscles. 1-3 lbs. dumbbells
or Zumba toning sticks are used to enhance the engagement and toning of targeted muscle groups
including chest, back, core, shoulders, legs and arms.
Essentrics® STRETCH: A zero impact workout that rebalances your body by simultaneously
stretching and strengthening all your muscles. This dynamic stretching program develops lean,
strong, flexible muscles and helps to unlock tight joints, with immediate benefits to your posture.
SCULPT & TONE: Offers a full body workout beginning with a light cardio warm up followed by
strength and conditioning exercises layering on Pilates style movements. Lengthen and tone muscles
while improving balance, increasing flexibility.
STRENGTH & STRETCH: This class is an intense strength training workout using balls, weights,
body bars, and bands. Designed to focus on strengthening and toning. All fitness levels welcome!
FLEXIBILITY & MOBILITY: A full rounded class includes deep tissue work with foam rollers and
therapy balls to massage tight, stiff muscles, followed by dynamic stretching and classic yoga pos-
tures.
ZUMBA: A fitness program that combines Latin and international music with dance moves. Zumba
routines incorporate interval training — alternating fast and slow rhythms — and resistance training.

YOGA TONE: A combination of Pilates and Yoga fused together to build strength and still leave you
feeling he wonderful benefits of yoga. Suggested prop blocks and blanket for towel to support the
knees.

EXPRESS CONDITIONER: Class focuses on full body movements to build strength, body aware-
ness and core strength. A short but very effective approach to make working out work for you. Expect
an emphasis on core strength and foundational movements such as squats, lunges and planks. Option
to have 2 fifteen minute goal setting sessions with the instructor. This can include any aspects to
health and wellness.
SLOW FLOW YOGA: Meditative flow to provide a well rounded practice incorporating standing and
grounding poses. Suitable for all levels.

Essentrics® BARRE: Features a carefully designed program of standing and “barre” exercises to
safely stretch and strengthen all your muscles. This easy to follow, zero impact stretching program
