EXPRESSING PROMISE

Study and practice the dialogue with your friend. Then answer the following guestion orally.

Dadang : Sandy, you shouldn’t eat that fried chicken.

Sandy : Why not ?

Dadang : Well. I don’t want you to gain your weight. I read an article in Health Magazine
yesterday. It said that we shouldn’t eat fried chicken. It is too fatty and it contains much
cholesterol.

Sandy : Oh, really? So?

Dadand : Don’t eat it and promise me that you’ll never eat it anymore.

Sandy : All right. I promise I won’t eat it. Then I’ll order noodle.

Dadang :Sandy, noodle is too spicy and salty. You should consume a little salt and spice.

Sandy : Why not?

Dadang : The article on Health Magazine also said that spice gives bad effect to our stomach
and salt forces our kidneys work hard.

Sandy : What should we eat then?

Dadang : Oh, a lot of vegetables such beans, carrots, lettuce, etc.

Sandy : It sounds awful. No chicken, no meat, no salt, . . . . ., what else?

Dadang : Well, you shouldn’t drink coffee either, Promise ?

Sandy : No. I break my promise. I think you should stop reading Health Magazine, Dadang. And
for my sake, would you promise to stop reading it?

Dadang : All right. I promise to stop reading Health Magazine. And you have promised to stop
eating fatty, spicy, and salty food, haven’t you ?
