Ms.

Karen’s Lesson Plans

These past few weeks sure have been a change for us all. I hope you and your family
have found these activities to be helpful. Remember to just have fun!

•Letter mix up
- For this activity you can use magnetic
letters or you can write each letter
separately on a small piece of paper.
-Place the letters face up on the floor(make
sure the letters are mixed up when placed
on the floor). Have your child put the letters
in alphabetical order. (Some may need a
picture of the alphabet as a guide).
-After putting the letters in alphabetical
order your child can practice writing the
letters.

•Letter names
Using the letters from the previous activity
have your child find the letters in their
name and put them in the correct order. As
they put them in order have them say the
letter names. Practice both first and last
name.
For a challenge you can make other words.

•Animal tape rescue


-You will need masking tape, a tray and
little toy animals or any other small
objects.
-Tape the animals to the tray by putting a
strip or two of tape across the animals.
Now the animals are stuck. Have your child
save the animals by peeling the tape off to
release the animals.
-This is a great fine motor activity! The goal
is to remove all the animals and the tape.
Getting the tape pulled up, getting the
the tape off of the animal and getting the
tape off of their fingers will be a challenge
for them. This will also help develop
hand eye coordination and problem
solving skills.

•What’s missing
-Collect a number of different items and
lay them out on the floor or a table. Have
your child look at all the items. Next have
them close their eyes and you take one
item away. Your child will open their eyes
and they need to tell you what is missing.
(Start with taking away one item and
gradually start taking away multiple
items at a time and see if your child
can tell you what’s missing).

Hi everyone! Hope you are all have a great week. It was great to see everyone on
Friday! Can’t wait to see everyone on Friday again!

Number circles
- draw ten circles on a piece of paper. Directly above each circle write a number from
one to ten. They can be in any order. It doesn’t have to be numerical. Once that is all
done, place a certain number beans or beads or small objects inside of the circle.
Example 3 objects inside the circle with number 3 above it. Do this till it is filled all the
way to number ten.  This activity will help with the counting skill and their fine motor.

See and spray activity


For this you will need some kind of squirt bottle filled with water and chalk. Write letters
of the alphabet on the ground. Give your child the squirt bottle and say a letter for them
to find. When they do they can squirt the letter with the water until it disappears. This
activity help to improve their fine motor skills and their letter recognition.

Rock painting
Go outside and collect some different sized rocks. Look at them see if they have
anything interesting on them, what shape do they kind of look like? When you are done
exploring the rocks get some paints and paint them. Mix together some colors and see
what new color you can create. This activity helps to in love their fine motor skills.

Pancake numbers
If you have some cardboard, cut some circles out to make “pancakes”.  If you don’t
have card board any thicker paper should work. On the pancakes write a number. Give
your child the pancakes and a spatula and a pan. Have them flip the pancakes in the
pan. Identify the number as they are flipping them. This activity will help to improve their
wrist and arm movements and number recognition.

Sensory bags
For this activity you will need a gallon sized plastic bag. To begin the activity fill the bag
1/4 to 1/2 way with very fine pasta, rice or sprinkles. You can also use paint just enough
to fill about an inch on the bottom of the bag. Zip the bag closed. Spread the object out
inside and flatten the bag. Once that is done you can write letters, numbers, shapes,
their name. Whatever they desire. This activity helps with their fine motor skills.
