Overview
Effective Dates: June 2000–April 2008 (refer to 'Archived Versions' for earlier versions).
This method covers the procedures for evaluating the material and construction
characteristics of lighting assemblies. The evaluation of lighting assemblies shall be
according to pertinent specification.
This method replaces Test Method "Tex-870-B, Material and Construction Characteristics
of Lighting Assemblies."
Section 2
Sampling
Sampling of lighting assemblies shall conform to the procedures outlined in "Tex-1110-T,
Sampling Lighting Assemblies."

Procedures
The following table details the steps for receiving lighting assemblies.
The following table details the steps for evaluating the construction characteristics of
lighting assemblies.
Section 5
Consecutive Testing
Test Method "Tex-1130-T, Ballast of Lighting Assemblies," normally follows testing for
Test Method "Tex-1120-T, Material and Construction Characteristics of Lighting
Assemblies." If this is the case, then replacing each assembly in shipping box is not
necessary.
Section 6
Completing Lighting Assemblies
Follow the 'Tagging/Labeling, Documenting and Shipping General Requirements' as
detailed in the "Preface" of this manual.
Section 7
Failure of Assemblies
Any assembly that fails to meet specification will be rejected and the lot represented by that
assembly shall also be rejected.
