Leon’s Café (In Baguio City)

Introduction:

One of the most popular travel destinations in the Philippines is Baguio. This mountain

city has drawn travelers throughout the year, especially in the summer and even on

holidays, because of its chilly temperatures, pine-dominated landscapes, and generally

beautiful ambiance.

While the capital, major towns in Metro Manila, and other lowlands experience

sweltering heat during the dry season, the climate here is comparatively cool, making it

a popular destination for locals seeking a staycation in the ambiance

Over time, Baguio’s tourist attractions increased in number, and several of its parks

began to provide additional activities. These days, you can unwind in one of these parks

in Baguio and spend the entire day exploring everything they have to offer.

Since Baguio has cool temperatures and chilly vibes, we think of a drink that is perfect

for this cool weather, and the first thing that comes to mind is coffee. We decided to

develop a new tourism product in the form of a coffee shop. The lion’s head is the

symbol of Baguio City, so we decided to name it after it. The name of our new tourism

product or business is “Leon’s Café.”


Economic Impacts:

Positive:

Industry of coffee in Baguio will grow

Baguio benefits the popularity of coffee and become more popular than before.

Another work for the people in Baguio

More income for the municipality of Baguio for their other projects

More interested tourist want to visit coffee

Negative:

The other local product of Baguio get down after the popularity of coffee in Baguio.

Other coffee shop in Baguio can be effected and cause of their closing

Other Baguio product can be lost in the most best selling product in Baguio

Uncontrolled a lot of tourist and don’t have a facility to stay

Environmental Impacts

Positive:

What we thought of was Coffee Shop and Coffee Cart, which are the same brand.

There is a shop that has a permanent location, and then there is a cart that can move to

sell coffee in more crowded areas. This tourism product we chose has a positive effect

on the environment because the coffee shop has many plants outside; it looks like a
garden, and customers can hang out there. This is good because, even though it is an

establishment, it can still help nature.

There is a coffee shop with a permanent location; this is good for customers who want

to hang out while having coffee or eating. Then there is a coffee cart for people who

can’t go to the shop itself or for those who want to walk around while having a coffee.

It’s good because it’s one of the marketing strategies. The customers have options that

will help them find a place where they are more comfortable and will also help the shop

increase sales.

Negative:

Because we will build an establishment there, there are plantations that need to be

bought for the business; because of that, the establishments on the mountain will

increase again, and the part of the mountain that is just crops will be reduced again.

Socio-Cultural Impacts

Positive:

These coffee shops having a great contribution in the economy which it provides jobs

and may support the local businesses. It helps to improve the economic stats, generate

more customers or visitors, gives a happy taste in their favorite beverage. You can find
coffee shop with cozy study spot because coffee shops are the best alternative place to

study other than your home.

Negative:

Disadvantage of coffee shops to the customers, if they order too much cup of coffee

and consume a lot of caffeine, it gives bad effects on individual person, specially to

those children, seniors and pregnants. Consuming too much caffeine can harm your life

and can cause anxiety. The another side effects of these are fatigue, insomnia, rapid

heart rate, chronic kidney disease and high blood pressure.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, we decided to build a new tourism product in the form of a coffee shop in

Baguio City. Since the weather is coolly nice, it suits to develop a Coffee shop named

“Leon’s Café” that brings warm in their body. Coffee shop’s name originated to the

symbol of Baguio City which is the lion’s head. This coffee shop can give a better grow

in coffee industry and make the Baguio City more popular than before. We invented

coffee cart, for people who can’t go to our shop because of the far distance or for those

who want to walk around while having a coffee, this is good for all of you. We managed

to analyze the positive and negative effects of coffee to our customers, so that we will

make some advices regarding to the effects of coffee in our body. This will help our

customers understand the importance of limitations in coffee cups and prioritize the

good health of every customer.
