Slope Name Art
The goals of this activity are:

● To write your first name using lines with: undefined

slopes, zero slopes, positive slopes, negative slopes
and nonlinear curves
● To accurately identify each type of slope on a graph

Directions:
1. Hold your graph paper the landscape way and draw
and x and y axis.

2. Scale/number your axes appropriately.

3. Create a color-coded key in the top right hand

corner of the paper. It should have 5 different colors:
one for undefined, one for zero slope, one for positive
slope, one for negative slope and one for nonlinear
curves.

4. Write your name on the graph paper using lines and

curves. You need at least 5 of each type of slope and 5
nonlinear curves.

5. If you do not have enough of each type of slope, add in

extra designs (underlines, drawings, ect.) so you can meet
this criteria.

6. Color code your design in accordance to the key you

made.
