The Supreme Court of India granted leave in an appeal filed by Sunita Devi and another person against the State of Haryana. The appellants had been denied pre-arrest bail by the High Court for offenses related to cheating in land transactions. The Supreme Court set aside the High Court's order, noting that the appellants had joined the investigation and custodial interrogation was not necessary at this stage. The Court granted bail to the appellants in the event of their arrest, subject to terms imposed by the lower court. It also stated that the state could seek cancellation of bail if the appellants failed to cooperate with further investigation.
