Robert Frost – Stopping By Woods On a Snowy Evening

Sometimes the situation a person is in can make him think that he has come to the end of the
road. Sometimes people may want to end their own life as a result of their losses or failures. In
such a situation, it may be much healthier to think and leave yourself to the beauties that
his/her future life can bring him/her.

The poem describes a cold and dark winter evening, which makes people feel depressed. It's a
cold winter night, the darkest night of the year, and the wind is blowing while it's snowing.
The narrator rides through the forest on his horse. He finds himself on the land of a man living
in the village and stops to look around. The narrator thinks that his horse must find it strange
that they are standing in the middle of the forest, and the horse shakes its harness bells as if in
response. The narrator notes that the only other sounds are wind and snow. He is swept away
by the beautiful, dark beauty of the forest, but knows that he cannot stay in the forest all night
and admire them. He says he has obligations, including more miles to travel, and is committed
to keeping it.

Besides the depressed feelings poem is also talking about the beauty of the nature and in our
real life we want to do many things enjoy many moments but due to our responsibilities, we
have to move on. As we have many desires but it is not possible to achieve them in a short
span of life. Life has its own plans for us.
