Cinderella was a beautiful girl who had lost her mother since childhood.

His
father had remarried a woman who had two beautiful but idle daughters.
When the father was not there, the stepmother and stepsisters forced him to
cook, wash and do all the cleaning while they rested and had fun.

One day the king organized a three-day party in honor of his son who would
take advantage of the occasion to choose a young lady as his wife. All the
girls of the kingdom were invited. At Cinderella's house, the stepmother
dressed her daughters in luxurious dresses and jewelry, hoping that one of
them would be chosen.

Cinderella wanted to go too, but she didn't have the right clothes for the
occasion. Then an aunt turned into a fairy appeared to her and with her
magic wand she turns a pumpkin into a carriage and mice into horses and
coachmen. In addition, he gives her a beautiful dress and a pair of glass
shoes. But he warns him that he should return before midnight because at
that time the spell is undone.

The first two nights of the party, Cinderella was the most beautiful and her
stepsisters did not recognize her. The prince fell in love with her and wanted
to dance with her all night, but Cinderella left before 12 o'clock. On the third
night, Cinderella forgot the hours, until she heard the midnight chimes and
had to run away. Escaping down a stairway, one of her glass slippers came
off.

The prince ordered all the young girls in the kingdom to try on the shoe,
hoping to find their beloved. At Cinderella's house, the stepsisters tried to
put it on her, but her feet were too big. So, Cinderella asked to try it on and
to everyone's surprise it fit perfectly. The prince took her to his palace and
asked her to marry him. Soon they got married and lived very happily.
