Highschool students should be taught academic knowledge so that they can pass exams,
and skills such as cooking or dressing should not be taught. To what extent do you agree or
disagree?
high school students = high school undergraduates = learners at high schools
academic knowledge = academic subjects = core subjects
vd: maths, literature, physics …
teach sb sth = provide / equip sb with sth
skills = practical skills = life skills = soft skills
cooking skill = culinary skill = cookery skill
(un)important = (un)necessary
It is believed that high school undergraduates should be taught core subjects so that they can pass
exams, and practical skills namely culinary skills or dressing should not be provided. From my
perspective, this proposal is absolutely justifiable.
On the one hand, parents will benefit a great from parenting classes. First, such courses provide
mothers and fathers with knowledge about how to raise children at different developmental
stages.
