1. Special occasion.

I’m going to talk about the first time I organized a volunteer event at my high
school. Eight years ago, when I was 16, I thought that it would be amazing to do
something helpful for other people around me . So I decided to find some projects
which had been in progress in my town. Then I gathered all my confidence and
talked to them about me doing the some volenteer project. Much to my surprise,
my parents agreed to help me and even gave some great ideas on how to run the
project.
Once I had got the support from my family, I started reaching out for my friends’
help. We decided to take our first step – holding an event and giving gifts for
children in SOS Children’s Village in our town. The major problem that we
encountered at that time was financial issues as we were only 16 and had nothing
at all, we needed to raise funds. It was also the first time ever in my life that I
stood in front of the whole class not presenting our homework but asking for
money. Everyone got shocked a little bit but after a while, all of my classmates
lined up to donate money. Luckily, the event was so successful that even friends
from other classes contacted me and asked to help.

3. An extreme weather type.
To tell the truth, as far as I am concerned, one of the most extreme weather
type in my hometown is “cold’ weather. I don’t really like cold weather,
especially, if it is associated with fog. But, I am pretty sure that Mother Nature
doesn’t really care whether I like it or not and still brings winter for us every year.
When it’s wintertime, the coldest time during the year, is when you see
snow falling, freezingly cold temperature, wind blowing all around, day becoming
shorter, night becoming longer and you do not want to go out. The temperature
usually fluctuates from 10°C to 22°C,it is not as cold as it is in other parts of the
globe but it’s really cold to me. I must wear huge coat, hat and shoes to keep warm
enough when you go out. Morever, cold weather makes me get up late, it’s too
hard to get out of the bed in the early morning. Although I set the alarm 6 a.m but
I get up at 6:30 a.m. However, there are something I like doing in cold weather
such as staying inside my house and never going out. For me, when the weather is
cold, it’s time to stay indoors someplace warm. Shorter days and longer nights
also contribute to more inactivity during wintertime. However, some people love
to get out in the cold and enjoy the unique types of activities that only come with
either snow or ice on the ground.
4. The smartest way to avoid lightning is to stay inside. But it may be tough to find a
good place on the trail when there are no buildings nearby, according to some
experts, “If you see a thunderstorm forming, get off the mountaintop, fast,”
because higher elevations attract more lightning strikes. Move off ridgelines and
find a gully or ravine; also avoid standing at the base of tall, isolated trees, which
tend to attract lightning.
Remember that the majority of lightning injuries don’t come from above—they
come from ground currents, when electricity from a strike travels through the
ground and up and out of another conductor. You can minimize a ground current’s
damage by minimizing your contact with the earth. Keep your feet together and
your hands close to your sides so that, if you’re struck, the charge can move
through you quickly. According to Gookin, it doesn’t matter if you’re in a
crouching position or standing straight up. The key is to just keep your limbs in
tight.
5. Whenever I sit to study, I find myself to be distracted and inattentive towards my
studies. Since this problem became frequent, I decided to insolve it. Thus, I spent
hours altogether on the internet, searching for one solution. And I found the
perfect one. So, I have named this solution as Break and Learn.
Firstly, I found that my cell phone was making me drift away from studies the
most. So now, whenever I sit with my books, I keep my phone switched off, lock
it inside the cupboard and give away the key to my mother to have zero access to
this device. And then, instead of covering all of the subjects at once, I have broken
them down into phases. This way, I spend no more than an hour on a subject.
Beside that, I usually study during the late hours of the night or early hours
of the morning. The reason is that this time is when everybody is fast asleep, and I
get peace and quietness all around; thus, my concentration levels get to improve to
a great extent.
6. Ok so let me tell you about the city where I was born and raised.
It is Da Nang city which is on the central coast and is one of the three biggest
cities of Vietnam. When you come here, you will be amazed by the beautiful
natural landscapes and the friendliness of our people. My city is well-known for
being favored by nature. We have the green mountains surrounding the city in the
west and a long fine-sand beach in the east, which offer tourists plenty of choices
to see and to enjoy here. Besides, I believe that the cuisine will never let them
down. There are plenty of delicacies that tourists can try like Hue noodle soup,
Quang style noodles, fresh spring rolls with pork and salad, etc.
My city is actually a perfect option for those who would like to settle down
because real estate is kind of affordable at the moment. Moreover, the cost of
living is relatively lower compared to Ho Chi Minh city or Hanoi city. Last but not
least, the locals are friendly and helpful who will never hesitate to support the
newcomers.
7. The Great Pyramid of Giza is a defining symbol of Egypt and the last of the
ancient Seven Wonders of the World. It is located on the Giza plateau near the
modern city of Cairo and was built over a twenty-year period during the reign of
the king Khufu of the 4th Dynasty.
Until the Eiffel Tower was completed in Paris, France in 1889, the Great
Pyramid was the tallest structure made by human hands in the world; a record it
held for over 3,000 years and one unlikely to be broken. Other scholars have
pointed to the Lincoln Cathedral spire in England, built in 1300, as the structure
which finally surpassed the Great Pyramid in height but, still, the Egyptian
monument held the title for an impressive span of time.
The pyramid rises to a height of 479 feet with a base of 754 feet and is comprised
of over two million blocks of stone. Some of these stones are of such immense
size and weight that the logistics of raising and positioning them so precisely
seems an impossibility by modern standards.
8. Last summer, I went to Nha Trang beach with my family, it was such a memorable
summer holiday. We went there by car, and when we nearly got there, from the far
distance, I could see how wide and beautiful the beach was. The weather was so
nice that made me want to run directly to the beach, enjoy the fresh air and clean
water. There were a lot of people swimming, sunbathing, playing volleyball on the
shore, and some children even built sand castles and flew kites .We stayed at
Edele hotel whose service I found very satisfied and I had the chance to eat the sea
food there, they were very delicious . I went to Vinpearl Land, Long Sơn
pagoda, too .They were very wonderful. I felt very fun and happy because I also
met many foreigners, they were tourists and I had talked to them a lot . We stayed
in Nha Trang for a week and the last day, I went to some gift shop near the beach
to buy souvenir for my grandparents and my friends . When I came back home, I
felt very happy but a little regretted because I wanted to stay there longer. I told
my dad I liked Nha Trang and I hoped we can go to Nha Trang again one summer.
