Lesson 5: Connecting the Dots

Hagar Story… (Genesis 16)

Abram eventually had the a son with Sarai just like God had promised them, and
they named him Isaac. That son grew up and had a son. And that son grew up and
had more sons. Their family eventually moved to Egypt. Over many, many years, the
family grew into a huge nation of people. These people were called the Israelites.
The Egyptians became afraid of the Israelites because there were so many of them,
so the Egyptians made the Israelites their slaves. The Israelites lived as slaves for
hundreds of years and endured much suffering. They cried out to God to save them
from their terrible situation and take them to a better land. God heard their prayers
and answered through a man named Moses. Today’s story is about Moses and the
Israelites in Egypt.
